It was easy to use and did not adversely affect the way my pie edges baked overall. I added it about 10 minutes into baking, just to give the crust a good setting in the oven - then quickly looping this protector around the pie edge. It is a durable material, was easy to unfurl and wrap, and was adjustable. I had a couple inches left for using it on my 9" pie pan, so it would easily accomplish covering a larger pan. It cleaned well with hot water and a tad of soap. I keep it in a drawer, rolled up - easy to store. This is a helpful, handy gadget for pie bakers!

They can be a bit tough to get the hang of. It's a bit like handling a snake, but once you get them in place, they work really great at protecting the edge of your pie crust, plus you don't burn your fingers getting them off the pie pan.
