Actual Kukri for half the cost!

Awesome Awesome knife. It's hefty and strong like a Kukri should be. Not razor sharp, but sharp enough. As soon as I got it I went out and hacked some wood, and it had 0 problem though I wouldn't want to cut down a tree with it, since it does send some strong vibration back into your hand.Speaking of hands, the handle on mine came chipped at the end. Not badly, just a nick. Also the scabbard was missing one of its rivets. Not sure if this got beat up in shipping or at the factory but I'm taking away one star for it.Not worth sending it back over though. I like it too much to part with it. Oh btw the handle is real wood. The nick in my Kukri's handle revealed the actual wood grain so that's another huge plus.

Picky knife person says good deal...

Just got early today so 1st impressions matter, im a collector with experience. A good kukri great 1 tool option, as bush folk say. Knife hatchet short machete all one... Perhaps most underestimated bush camp tool, great chopper batoner slasher and can do some carving well too if you stay up in the narrow area. You may already know... I used to think a goofy design but after using see why this ancient design is still so popular, here is my critique id like to share. 1) aus8 they say steel, i think true i have another knife in aus8 from this same brand that is stamped, this not marked i can find... Came sharp. Swiped few times on ceramic rod (best for this) got razor. Aus8 seems right and is great steel for this blade, shapens easy and under abuse tends to give or roll rather than chip. Supersteel is overated for this type tool, aus8 is perfect, stainless, keeps plenty sharp in regular use. Not a cheap steel especially this big chunk. Blade is ground very well at 3/16 thick or metric close equal, very same thick as my cold steel srk. The mass of it is beefy sturdy, heavy but about as light as real kukri can get. The spine is 90° for firesteel and batoning. The other flats are also 90 which can be hard on hands, but as kukri, the design lends to blade doing most of effort. Theres 2 notch grind thing past hilt i think they say for ferro rod, but most likey back is better, its kinda a design thing, ive heard some say they are good arrow straighteners in the bush...blade smooth black coating very smooth and compliments how good the grinds are. 2) handle... Appears to be walnut, nice grain smooth satin finish, but it seems that an area about 1" at side of pommel is just maybe 1mm shy of tang, not enough to see but can feel, and the flare of pommel corners are bit keen as well, this could be hotspot, nothing is perfect. Id have to dremel it or something, its not enough to make me... Really like the stainless bolts, and brass lined lanyard hole, but that likely means the handles dont come off because of brass tube and maybe glue, not tring to find out. Screws are tight and good size, dont want big becker types could lead to cracks or whatnot.Stainless is what matters cause of sweat etc. Handle fits my generic medium hand well. I do say the finish is well done, not laquer like, just satin smooth maybe linseed or equal oiled. 3) sheath is... Really not belt carry made. Its the ballistic nylon you get on most, but least it is reinforced and not overly flimsy, rivets too (mine were put in fine) and we have a simple belt loop that if used would ride too high i think. A snap collar for handle which is a bit thin and bit loose...but at least they are a better quality webbing than that waffle weave type web. This is denser weave like good bacpacks have. Realistically this not likely to be carried, by most. If so you need more... Its more a pack knife. It can save weight in place of hatchet, machete, backup knife. So in that way great 1 toolGood quality overall, i forgot theres a zipper on the side of sheath which i was unsure of its worth, but actually i like it now. The knife cant fall out zipped up because of shape, although it can jiggle a bit because of loose collar, its a quiet jiggle, but if not zipped up could become a real mess... So i think shock cordage or paracord invention if on the outside pack etc. Kept in pack should be fine. Im satisfied with this blade and not endorsed or anything like in any way, its a solid deal if interested.

This is a High Quality Kukri & Almost too nice to actually use! It puts ANY other Kukri to shame! I chopped close to a cord of 1"dia, Dry Bamboo with very little effort & this was straight from the box! I am Very Impressed & Happy with my purchase! The sheath is also worth a darn and a bit more! Two Opposable Thumbs Up!
