I had Bell's Palsy in 2021. After a year, the right side of my face still hurt, the muscles were stiff, and my eye wouldn't close properly during sleep. The controls are close are under your hand/fingers so it's easy to accidentally boost the speed or microcurrent. At first I think I used too much gel and even on the lowest setting it was too shocking. Since then, Ive barely applied some gel and it feels better. It shocked my forehead and made my teeth ache. It does seem to need some conductive gel or serum, because it was not as effective without any gel. It's like a tens-unit, except you roll it instead of sticking on the electrodes.
