## Description

From the manufacturer Within the charming valley of Everdell, beneath the boughs of towering trees, among meandering streams and mossy hollows, a civilization of forest critters is thriving and expanding. From Everfrost to Bellsong, many a year have come and gone, but the time has come for new territories to be settled and new cities established. You will be the leader of a group of critters intent on just such a task. There are buildings to construct, lively characters to meet, events to host—you have a busy year ahead of yourself. Will the sun shine brightest on your city before the winter moon rises? Everdell is a game of dynamic tableau building and worker placement. A player can take one of three actions a) Place a Worker: Each player has a collection of Worker pieces. These are placed on the board locations, events, and Destination cards. Workers perform various actions to further the development of a player's tableau: gathering resources, drawing cards, and taking other special actions. b) Play a Card: Each player is building and populating a city; a tableau of up to 15 Construction and Critter cards. There are five types of cards: Travelers, Production, Destination, Governance, and Prosperity. Cards generate resources (twigs, resin, pebbles, and berries), grant abilities, and ultimately score points. The interactions of the cards reveal numerous strategies and a near infinite variety of working cities. c) Prepare for the next Season: Workers are returned to the players supply and new workers are added. The game is played from Winter through to the onset of the following winter, at which point the player with the city with the most points wins.

Review: Beautiful Deep Game - First of all this game is beautiful, the board the pieces the 3D tree the whole thing is lovely to look at - the game itself is maximum 4 players and we play as a family with our youngest being 6 (but generally good at board games) the game can last a while so allow a good 90mins or so although I guess it would be quicker with 2, hard to explain the game it’s basically about using resources to built a community - send your worker to get wood - build a farm - get a farmer (or a Court and a Judge or a School and a Teacher) etc then each building or character adds points and perks to your community / city - you play 4 similar but not identical seasons and then tot up your scores - the whole game is made super cute due to all of this being based in a woodland creature theme so you have mice, badgers, rabbits, bats, moles all with jobs that suit their animal persona - superb game not for the faint hearted this is not ‘roll a dice move so many places turn over a card’ kind of gameplay it is a little complicated and quite strategic but super engaging and easy to learn - highly recommended one of our absolute favourites
Review: Cute and fun game for 1-4 players - I like how the game design and mechanics fit satisfyingly well around the central theme of building a flourishing forest city. The art design on the playing cards is delightfully cute, and the pairing of critters with their corresponding construction in the artwork is a lovely feature. I've mostly played the 2-player game with my partner, but have also played with 3 or 4 players, where more of the unique cards and events can be showcased per game. A single player option is also available. Once players are familiar with the rules, each person's individual turn is relatively short, so that the game can progress fairly quickly without people getting bored waiting for their turn. There are good videos available online explaining the rules in around 20 minutes or less, and I would generally recommending checking these out so you can try before you buy. The paper rulebook provided also contains more artwork and lore about the game world. My family and friends have enjoyed playing this game together multiple times, so I would say this represents decent value for money. Overall quality and durability of the physical pieces (cards, resource markers, player markers, board) is very good, though I would recommend taking care when constructing the Evertree part of the board as this is the most easy part to accidently damage due to frequent construction and deconstruction.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would this be a good game for two adults?**
A: Probably a little late with this answer for you but absolutely, it is a fantastic game & plays really well at a two player count.

**Q: How easy is it to play this? Is it time consuming? Is it fun or also a bit tedious?**
A: Quite easy. Much easier if you watch a play through on YouTube. This will also give you a good idea of how the gameplay is. It is good fun and we still enjoy getting it out for a game or two every few weeks. There is a lot to learn by playing it and working out what is the best strategies.

It doesn’t take too long once you have worked out the rules, it really depends on how many players and how chilled you are playing it. I would suggest about 30mins for an average game.

Well worth the money IMO

**Q: Is this the collector's edition?**
A: No, I think this is the standard edition

**Q: Is this the collectors edition or the basic retail?**
A: Basic retail.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good game but does have a few minor issues
*by T***H on 19 April 2026*

A really good game which takes about an hour to play. You do need a large playing area, even with just two players. If I have any criticism to make, the printing on the cards are very small and you need to refer to the info on a regular basis. You need to play this a few times to establish a full understanding, and when I started to play this, there were a few rules which we "adapted" by common agreement. The tree is made from cardboard which after just a few plays tend to delaminate so initially we put some clear tape on it to assist with assembly. (If you have access to a 3D printer, you can replace the tree, but actually the tree is primarily just for show, so you can actually play the game without it with a bit of creative initiative). There are expansions, but you could end up paying an awful lot for the game, and I like the game in its basic form.
