## Overview

Natural Chemistry Phosfree is a 3-liter phosphate remover that uses rare earth lanthanum compounds to reduce phosphate levels in pool water to near zero. Applied via the skimmer, it forms a coating inside the filter media that traps phosphates, preventing algae growth and water cloudiness. Proven effective within 48 hours, it simplifies pool maintenance, reduces chemical use, and keeps water crystal clear all season long.

## Description

Product Description Reducing phosphate levels in pools is easy with Natural Chemistry's patented Phosfree technology. Phosfree is formulated from lanthanum (rare earth) compounds. When added to the skimmer, a thin coating of Phosfree forms on the filter media. As pool water flows through the filter, phosphates are reduced to a very low level. From the Manufacturer .

Review: Just Awesome - We had a green algae problem from middle of last year onward. I would get algae along the bottom of our walls even though my Free Chlorine, PH, and Alkalinity were all perfect. I would by some Green to Clean, which would get rid of it for a bit, but then it would come right back days later. Eventually, I just closed the pool last September and blamed it on something wrong with our DE filter. This year, our filter broke so we got a new one (DE again). Same freakin' problem with Algae. Spent another $100 on Green to Clean and Chlorine, and the algae was still coming back along the bottom edges first - and then up the walls and along the floor. After reading a ton of reviews everywhere, I bought 2 bottles of this product. The pool was a pretty bad color of green about now, but we tested and poured the right amount noted this in anyway. We tested in 48 hrs, and emptied/refilled the DE in our filter (no bumping, as that would release a lot of algae back into the pool). We kept doing this ~3 or 4 times over the week (test Phosphate, pour in recommended amt, cycle DE) and we are now back on track! It did cost me ~1 25lb bag of DE, some chlorine, and time scrubbing the pool to loosen up the algae, but it worked! The phosphate level is below 100 now, and the pool is crystal blue. I turned our pump down so it is only on 8hrs per day (energy savings), as well as not having to dump 2 lbs of shock in every few days in addition to my inline chlorine feeder - just to stay ahead of this! We only used up 1 3liter bottle getting our 27' round pool in shape, but we will definitely be checking weekly and using our 2nd bottle thru the summer, closing, and next year. Must have this stuff on hand at all times! NOTES: - If you have a DE filter, expect to cycle the DE at least every day until the pool gets clean. - Don't forget to stir. This is a milky white product, and we thought it was clear for the longest time because the white stuff was on the bottom. Thanks for all the reviews - a huge help! UPDATE AFTER USING FOR 2 MONTHS: STILL NO ALGAE!! This is amazing stuff! Buying some more now (1/2 price) to have on hand for next year. I agree with another reviewer - this is the best kept secret at any pool supply store. Even if you don't have an algae problem yet, you should still get this stuff because you don't want an algae problem. UPDATE AFTER POOL OPENING FOLLOWING YEAR: STILL AMAZING!! I put the rest of my 3 liter jug into the pool at the end of last year, and this year we opened our pool late (mid June), and there was still no algae. We measured the Phosphate levels again, and they were fine. We went right to a maintenance dosage this year. When we opened our pool late in prior years, the pool looked like a swamp. It used to have flies, frogs, and some other weird swimming creatures. We couldn't even see the bottom of the pool. Now, after using this - it is amazing. Will never go back, and I always have an extra 3 liter on hand now!
Review: Total Game-Changer - I've been maintaining a pool for years and have tried countless products to deal with recurring algae issues, but nothing compares to PHOSfree. I started noticing persistent green tints even after shocking and brushing, so after some research I realized high phosphate levels were likely to blame. I added this to my skimmer as directed and within 48 hours, the cloudiness began to lift. By day 3, my pool was sparkling again.I tested phosphate levels before and after using it and saw a dramatic reduction from over 1000 ppb to under 100 ppb in one treatment. This has now become a staple in my regular maintenance. If you’ve been battling algae despite balanced water, check your phosphates—this product works wonders. Highly recommended!

## Features

- Reduces Phosphates: Natural Chemistry's Phosfree enables pool owners to drop phosphate levels in your pool to almost nothing.
- Clear Water: PHOSfree works in the filter to minimize any water clouding, ensuring the water stays sparkling clear.
- No Phosphates, No Problem: PHOSfree is formulated from lanthanum (rare earth) compounds. When added to your skimmer, a thin coating of PHOSfree forms on the filter media. As pool water flows through the filter, phosphates are reduced to very low levels due to the lathanum and phosphate molecules sticking together. Works inside the filter which means less clouding of the water.
- Effortless Maintenance: Simplify pool care with Phosfree designed to reduce overall maintenance while keeping your water clean and clear.
- Tested and Proven Effective: Natural Chemistry products are known for delivering reliable results and making water care less complex. Natural Chemistry carries an extensive line of pool and spa solutions that match your unique needs.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Any one know what the difference is between this product and Pool Perfect + Phos Free**
A: Both are worthless! Look at the halosource sea klear phosphate remover, it actually removes phosphates from pool water! 32 oz. Of sea klear will remove more phosphates than 30 liters of phos-free.

**Q: Do you still have to use shock if you use this product or is it used in place of shock? I am a brand new pool owner. Thanks for any help you can give!**
A: These are very, very different products. Phosfree is a maintenance product designed to keep pool phosphate levels very low-to-absent. Phosphate prevents chlorine from killing algae. If you have algae blooms already, you should shock and brush the pool. Then test for phosphate (Natural Chemistry makes a very easy to use test strip; bottle of 10 for about $12, I think) and determine how much phosphate remover to use. If you can, consult a pool supply store as to what specific product to use. I like a concentrated product called PhosOut, harder to find than the Natural Chemistry series, but I think it works better for both treating a major phosphate level or for preventive maintenance. Hopefully, you learn your lesson with the "major" level once and for all. It's is very wise to be proactive at suppressing phosphate.

**Q: Can you swim in the pool while the Phosree application and the pump ares still working to reduce the algae?**
A: Yes...most definitely. We have been using Phos Free for several years and I also have the best looking pool. Works great and I put one capful a weekend in my inground 18x36 pool...

**Q: Some algea prevention chemicals will add metals such as copper to the water. Are there any metals in Phos Free?**
A: This product contains lanthanum chloride. This chemical binds with phosphates in water, making the phosphates unavailable as algae food. It's probably not helpful to think of it as a metal. You can find the material safety data sheet (MSDS) online if you want more information.

This product is not an enzyme. The manufacturer does make other products containing enzymes; they usually have the word "Magic" in their name.
