The pump on the soap pump got really rusty and gross and green and we tried to clean it, but it just kept getting worse. But after putting hand soap in the dispenser and letting it sit in the bathroom a couple of days, I went to use it and black stuff came out mixed in with the clear hand soap. So I took it apart and cleaned the nozzle out and changed the hand soap. Couple of days, black goop comes out when you use it. After countless cleanings and different brands of hand soap, I have determined that the soap dispenser was never intended to actually be used to dispense soap.
