I never want a whole pot of coffee because I really only drink one cup here and there and if I ever make coffee, it's generally just for myself. Lately I've been drinking instant coffee and it never tastes very good so I did some research and found this product so I can make 1 cup of REAL coffee without buying an expensive unit that requires expensive wasteful pods. I can make a really good cup of coffee with this and cleanup is a breeze. The coffee is ready very fast, the longest part of making the coffee is waiting for your water to boil to make the coffee. I love that it is reusable and dishwasher safe. The item itself is high quality and crafted very well. I imagine I'll be using this daily for many years, it's a really good product and seems to be extremely durable. The inner mesh is extremely fine, held by the delicately-perforated steel cone. I got it because IMO it is the least disposable way to make coffee as there are no paper filters or pods to throw away after its elaboration. Also, cleaning is fantastic becuase all you have to do is rinse the filter and wash the cup in which you drank the coffee.I like the french press and own one. However, cleaning the artifact is rather cumbersome. However, the taste is great. I also own a Starbucks Verismo but the coffee is only average and is environmentally regretable. This filter, however, lacks any disposable parts and makes deliciously-ttasting coffee! Most of the oils go directly so you can better appreciate its taste and nuances. It's simply delicious.I have made single servings but you can also use more coffee and pour it over a beaker to make a larger batch.I will take it camping soon and will update this post if the experience is anything other than fantastic!It is unexpectedly large (attached photos), feels and looks of great quality but if treated carefully it will likely last a long time!I would recommend to use a medium grind to prevent blocking the fine mesh but I'm not sure whether a fine grind would be an issue anyway.**************************************Update 14-JUNE-2016I'm am now very sad with this coffee filter's performance. It is taking too much time for the water to pass through. It is taking so long, that when it's done, the coffee is lukewarm, though I use boiling water at the beginning. I have tried cleaning the filter with soap, with a gentle brush, and I even tried leaving it in soapy water overnight, with no success. In addition, I contacted the manufacturer's customer service at support@bartelliusa.com and they have yet to return an answer, after about three weeks. I also used different grinds from coarse, to medium, to fine, and it did not change a thing. It still takes too long for the water to pass through the filter.A relative bought a similar coffee filter but from a different brand. It not only costs half as much but performs better as the water passes through at a much faster rate. They say the coffee tastes the same with either filter.**************************************Update 01-JULY-2016A few days ago I was making coffee in the morning. The flow of water simply stopped. The filter was fully clogged when filled 2/3 of the way and water was just not moving. I lost my mind and sprayed some kitchen bleach in an effort to test whether oils from the coffee had clogged my filter's mesh. Bleach started to drip with an interesting brown color. I cleaned it several times with hot water, then with dish soap and brush, and finally poured several rounds of boiling water to ensure I rinsed the bleach away to best of my ability. After that I decided to try making coffee and observe the results. I boiled some water, put coffee grounds on the filter and, water poured right through!!! In fact, water was flowing so fast through the filter that I could not believe how fast and easy it was to make that cup of coffee. I was scared of any bleach left of the mesh so I made two more cups of coffee and washing the filter each time. Now, the filter is back to normal. Coffee is tasting great, enough oils from the coffee are passing through and the stainless steel looks truly stainless. I would recommend, as do other reviewers here, to run the filter through the auto-dishwasher every month. Sadly, my apartment does not have such kitchen gadget. But I will ask someone to let me put my filter in their dishwasher every often. Another alternative is to subject my filter to another bleach cleansing but it slightly scares me.In any case, it seems coffee oils will clog-up the filter after a few uses. Thus, make sure you run it through the dishwasher every month, or figure out another way to clean it thoroughly every so often.I will leave my review at four stars because though the product is the best coffee-related product I have ever owned and I truly admire its quality, the manufacturer's (Bartelli) customer service is absent. I sent several emails to them asking for recommendations as to what was going on with my filter to no response. Not even an automated thank-you-for-contacting-us response!**************************************Update 06-APR-2017My Bartelli coffee filter finally gave in. The base (the flat section at the bottom) of the cone is apparently not soldered onto the cone's body. The annulus (or ring, disc, etc.) that rests on the cup/mug is soldered to the base of the cone. They are held together because the base is on the inside of the cone and the annulus is outside of it (i.e. The cone is just placed/trapped between the base and the ring). So, from repeated cleaning the base of the cone developed some give. Now, there is a relatively big gap at the bottom of the filter (Between the cone and its base). I think the only way to fix this would be to solder it but I don't have the tools (torch, filler, etc.) and it is probably cheaper just to get a new filter (Though actually soldering it sounds fun). I have attached two new photos of how the filter looks now. Note that one of them I took in front of a lamp, so you can see how a significant amount of light passes between the cone and its base. The big problem with this is that water not only flows at an accelerated rate but a lot of grit passes through.It's quite sad this happened because I was, overall, happy with the filter. I may replace it, but with a different design (One wherein the cone's bottom is a single piece that cannot come apart easily) from a different brand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars No more paper filters ! Simply add a scoop of ground coffee into the filter and pour into your cup. Like the pour overs at coffee shops but no paper filter is required as the small perforated holes are the sieve. Regular use of this filter stops plastic waste, and the expense of electronic machines. Plus you see the water you are drinking for example. Have you ever looked into the well of a Keurig? This filter stores away easily.
