I tried Himalaya and nivia balm as well as ghee but none have made my lips as plump as this within 10 minutes of scrubbing. Effect stays for about 6 hours or till a bath. Don't lick too much inspite of good taste.---------------(1) It gives appearance of lightness as plumper lips have stretch and appear automatically light.(2) Ingredients are very natural. And as per packaging they are vegetarian.(3) The scrubbing effect is only due to sugar and it dissolves in a minute of scrubbing. What worked for me is taking half of a normal use amount and use twice so that dissolution of sugar is delayed.(4) Since no acidic elements (like lime), it may not lighten by itself. It only gives effect of lightening due to lips becoming healthier and plumper. I might add lime at a later point as darkening is heavy for me due to 10+ years smoking.-----------Usage tips - 1) don't lick lips too much as given in instructions, as it dries them up. 2) you might get the moisturizing effects by scrubbing your lips for a few seconds but for the real after effect happens due to better blood supply on massaging lips. So make sure you don't simply apply. but scrub.PS-will update after a month of use on lightening effect. As of now it has had the best effect on health of lips.-----------Update: No change in color or any lightening, Lips are definitely more plump.
