These are for "holes" and grab internally. The other type of screw/bolt extractor grab externally. So to use this particular set, you want to use a metal or cobalt bit to drill a hole in your broken bolt. You only need to go as deep as the extractor head. One your hole is drilled, then take a hammer and gently tap one of the extrators into the hole. Then using a hardened/impact socket, rotate and loosen your broken bolt. DO NOT use an air gun or impact wrench. Do this by hand using a breaker bar. You may need to tap the extractor in a few times and repeat the process. Be patient, it will work. Also, use penetrating oil such as Liquid Wrench on the stuck bolt as well. That will help a lot. There are videos on You Tube if you need further explanation. Good luck Oscar ! **Q: Do you have any special tips for removing a soft aluminum oil drain plug? it was a torx. have drilled out a smooth 1/2 inch hole.** A: I have these on multiple metals and they worked perfectly every time, so they should work on your drain plug. **Q: Where is this made?** A: There is no country of origin on the case or any of the individual extractors. Returning the rest. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Complete kit with a nice storage case *by T***L on May 12, 2026* Multiple sizes of left handed drill bits plus a matching range of extractors. I used it this morning for the first time to remove 4 rusted steel bolts that had been in for about 10 years and wouldn’t budge. I tried the smallest drill bit first and it snapped. Tried the next two larger sizes and they didn’t seem to cut into the screw very well. I finally gave up and took a hammer and a chisel and removed the screw head.
