Flossaid Dental Floss Holder - 4 Pack -The Original FLOSSAID Dental Floss Holder is an excellent dental hygiene tool. With it's angled head and long handle, not one tooth space is neglected or incompletely flossed. FLOSSAID "makes flossing easy". Assorted color - colors vary from the picture. Review: The best dental protection ever - The best dental protection ever. Review: What a smart and dandy tool - This review is for the Dental Floss Holder 4 pack by FLOSSAID that I bought in 2018. Today is Feb 2025. They still hold up! Haven't broken one. I gave one as a gift, use one regularly, one for travel, and one for spare. They are sturdy plastic, not flimsy, and the floss stays wrapped on it. Not much else to say, I guess. It does make flossing much easier than pushing fingers into my mouth! LOL.

I'm actually flossing each day!!
I have always hated flossing because I just couldn't get my fingers in my mouth to effectively floss properly. Also, the floss wouldn't stay wrapped around my fingers. This plastic savior is great! I have one at work with me and one at home and I find myself flossing once a day without fail - sometimes twice! One cavaet: sometimes the floss doesn't stay wrapped around the tool's tines which is frustrating but once you learn how to wrap the floss and tighten it down I can get it to stay while I floss. I have a gap between teeth that always puts a strain on the floss because of how tight the gap is. If you struggle with flossing, I seriously recommend this product. It has changed how I perform periodontal maintenace...(and the cost of gum disease is real and expensive!)

They work well and I enjoy using them.
I have had these types of flosser before. I really like using them.

Very big, floss falls off too easily
I prefer to use the small individual floss sticks to floss, but I didn't like how wasteful it is. I wanted to have a reusable floss holder so that I would hopefully floss more and waste less. However, these products are a waste. The floss does not stay on the holder, it falls off very easily. The product itself is VERY large which is uncomfortable in your mouth. Maybe this product isn't for me, but is actually for someone who needs more accessibility and assistance.

A Flossing Tool Comparison - Flossaid is the better value
There is the Flossaid and there is the GUM Flossmate. I've tried both and both make flossing easier. The GUM Flossmate will eventually snap after a couple of years of use. I'm not certain about the durability of the Flossaid. The GUM Flossmate is easier to load with floss but doesn't have as firm a hold on the floss as the Flossaid. I like the length of the handle on the Flossaid but it's too skinny. The GUM Flossmate has a fatter handle but it's too short. Also, note if you use a thinner brand of floss like POH Dental floss, the Flossaid will have a tendency to get jammed and shred your floss as you try to unwind and advance the floss. That is not a problem with the GUM Flossmate. The Flossaid requires slightly more finesse to wind the floss around the fingers versus the GUM Flossmate. If you've got tightly spaced teeth, you will want the Flossaid since it has a firmer grip on the floss. If you don't, the GUM Flossmate is less of a pain to use. So for the money, the Flossaid is the winner but in terms of utility it's a draw.

These work. See my tips on how to use below
I was not a flosser. I usually flossed around 2-3 times a year prior to a dental appointment. But for some reason, after the last visit (and there really weren't any observable changes) I decided to start flossing. Flossed daily for a week, but decided that I needed an aid. The three tiny sample floss aids that the dental office gave me were essentially worthless, no tension as the tiny piece of floss quickly pulled through the holes in the cheap plastic. I ordered these and really like them. Some people complain about the “tongs” being too far apart, but I found that as I wrapped the floss over and around them and then the “spool” that I just squeezed the two tongs towards each other before wrapping the rest of the floss string around the spool. When the “tongs” were released, these then created tension on the floss, keeping it nice and tight. I can reach my back molars and wisdom teeth without any difficulty. One catch, and this is not a device issue, but I have several caps/crowns on my teeth. When manual flossing, I feed the floss down into the gap and then release one end of the string and pull the string through the gap rather than lifting it back out. With these, the tendency is to pull it back up and I’m a bit concerned about dislodging the crown. So I’ll have to do most of my teeth with the device and then come back through and manually do those other 2-3 tooth gaps. INSTRUCTIONS: Here is how I use them. Cut about 18+” of floss string. Wrap 3 winds around the spool. Then run the string through the channel, through the two notches, and back through the channel. Now squeeze the tongs together about 1/16” to 1/8” or so and while pulling the string snugly, wrap the rest around the spool (just like you would with your finger). Release the tongs and the string should be tight. Use the assembly to floss a number of teeth. If the string should show wear/separation, simply unwind the last segment of the string from the spool and the tongs, and wrap another loop around the spool (kind of like wrapping another loop around your finger) and run the string back through the channels and the take up spool. It only takes about 10-15 seconds to do so. Continue with the flossing. I can’t testify as to the longevity of the device, but they are cheap enough to replace if they get brittle over time. Some have reported they last around a year each. That is pretty decent in my book. Whether they last 3 months, 6 or 12, that is good enough for me at $2.25 each. It’s not a major expense. Give them a shot. Kindly give this a thumbs up if you find this helpful.

Really big flossers!
This must be for people with really big mouths, I can barely fit this in my mouth, much less move it between teeth. It's huge! That said, I tried following the directions on threading the floss.. I was sure it was right, but the floss keeps stretching out (slack) and doesn't work like it's supposed to. Also, I use the vegan cornsilk floss, and if I wrap it around my fingers it doesn't fray or tear, but for some reason it does both using this. I think I wasted my money, but I will give the other three flossers away as gifts to family (people with bigger mouths).

good alternative to disposable picks
We used to use disposable flosser picks to floss the kids' teeth but we didn't like the amount of waste they created so we bought these as an alternative. I was a bit worried as they are a bit big but we didn't have any problems flossing the kids' mouths (aged 3 and 5). For the first couple of times using it, it was a bit tricky to get the floss on it but after about a week, it became quite easy. They do a great job and best of all, drastically reduce cost and waste of one-time floss picks. Highly recommended!

Keep the dentist at bay!
I’ve been using Flossaid for decades! The product is well made and unless you stand on it they last for ages. My dentist recommended it to me and as I can’t floss without it I’ll be using it until I have dentures! Figtreeburg offer an excellent service my Flossaid arrived before I expected them to. A very good company to do business with.
