Nice iron for building RC planes
I got this iron to replace a 30-year-old one that had been dropped several times cracking all the plastic pieces. This new iron works very well; the controls are easy to use, and the digital temperature readout is nice. It heats up fast and holds the temperature well. It seems fairly sturdy and just does what I expect it to do.

I didn't buy it for edge banding, I bought to put covering on RC Planes
I fly, build and repair (LOL) Remote Control airplanes for one of my hobbies. I had purchased several "Covering Irons" since the 80 to iron covering onto the airframes of my Remote Control Aircraft. Hands down, this is by far the BEST Iron I've ever purchased and one of the BEST things about it is, you can set the temperature to the EXACT heat setting the covering manufactures recommend for their products. If you want a GREAT iron for covering Remote Control Planes, this it it, and WAY better than what the Hobby Shops and Online stores sell. Oh yea, I also do a little wood working and it works great on iron on wood banding.

Perfect for edge-banding applications.
Used this for many hours to apply hundreds of feet of edge-banding laminate on plywood. I thought "digital" would be overkill, but it was nice to set the temp to a perfect 200 degrees Celsius per the edge-banding manufacturer's recommendation. I also like the non-stick coating. It was easy to wipe clean of excess glue.

Good enough for what I need
This is slow to heat but not horribly slow. The temperature control and actual temperature are close enough to be serviceable. It just feels a little expensive for the quality. It's pretty straightforward to use - set it and wait for the flashing lights to finish. I use this in rebinding books to straighten dog-eared pages, to add gold gilding to book edges, etc. It works really well for that vs. an iron.

Works better than old one
Use this to put on iron on wood edge banding tape good temperature settings you can adjust so you don't burn the banding tape even prefinished wood banding tape

Quality little iron
We use item for our airplanes and it is so nice to have the digital readout and simple push button temperature adjustment. Comes with a little wire stand and again works fantastic!!

Started out perfect, but Only lasted 8 months
The headline here is it Only lasted 8 months- so frustrating considering the price. When I turn it on, I get an error message and it won’t heat. Up until it quit working I LOVED it! I’m a little disappointed because there isn’t anything comparable on the market to replace it with. I hate to have to continue buying these just to have them die so quickly.

Seems good - time will tell
Not sure for how many feet of trim the element will last, but hoping for a few hundred at minimum. Everything seems made well, if not robustly. Maybe that’s a good thing as it does save weight. Set it to 200C (max) and tried a sample. Worked fine. The translation of instructions is odd. The instructions say to “store the sock”, but if you go back to the sell images, you see they mean put the sock on the iron before you use it. The sock is cotton, so it’ll reduce the heat transfer. Will see how this works out when I have some experience with the iron.

Excelente herramienta

No volveré a comprar

It Works!!
Boy-oh-boy..... did this ever work good! I was a little skeptical at first after reading some of the reviews. Especially about the possibility of the iron not getting hot enough. But it did. It did a great job of adhering the edge band to the cabinet front leading edge. It got plenty hot enough to ensure a super tight bond, that could well last until Jesus comes! It was easy to use in hand and I really loved how the point allowed me to get into the corners. Very pleased.

Nice digital display
I didn't buy this to do edge banding. I wanted to see if it would give better results than a clothes iron to hem the edges of a woven poly fabric material. The difference between hot enough to fuse the material and hot enough to make the material melt and vaporize was pretty tight, and I was hoping that the digital temperature setting would help. It didn't. The size and mass of the head didn't allow for a precise and consistent heat, the spread between heat lower and upper limits was too wide for the material I was using and it made for an inconsistent result. Oh, and the cord is quite short. Which means you are going to need to use an extension cord unless you are working on a very small item on a bench that is very close to a wall outlet. One more thing to catch and hang-up as you are working and changing orientation to get the head in the optimal position to deliver heat.
