The cushions are firmer but not hard. Very supportive. The back is very cushioned and feels nice on my injured back. Perfect for lounging and even sleeping. I can lay on one end with a pillow and my feet don't touch the other side. (I'm 5'5"). The material is a longer microfiber but doesn't attract too much pet hair. I have two long haired cats and the hair swipes off easily. It was my first couch bought online and I love it. Now onto the shipping... Ceva was horrible and I didn't get the couch for almost 3 months. Seems like they lost the couch. The company shipped it straight on a pallet with plastic so the whole bottom got torn up. It doesn't even need pillows as the side arms and back are like pillows themselves. Our only issue now is not falling asleep as you sink into the comfort! I guess the only other hassle is occasionally having to push in the cushions as they work their way out. The pillow arm rests need to be squeezed but it will fit through the door if you remove its shipping material.
