The Muse Tarot: A 78-Card Deck & Guidebook

I wasn't sure about this deck. Watched several walk through and reviews, and purchased it because I loved the art and I'm definitely a fan of Chris-Anne. This deck isn't for beginners, but if you have even a very basic understanding of traditional card meanings you will probably be okay. The images in this deck are female. It's been criticized for lacking male energy. But there are times when, as a woman, it's empowering to work with a deck that doesn't pigeonhole women into traditional roles only. The Kings of each suit have been reimagined as female muses, this works really well for me. This is a deck that I've found works well for me during times I'm working on art or creative pursuits. I really enjoy the guidebook, which provides fanciful write-ups and bits of poetry for each card. It really helps you move put of the mundane, linear way of thinking. It's helped me experience certain cards more fully and deeply, at times illuminating aspects of them I had previously missed because they were more subtle. I have read some bashing on the mass market publisher of this deck regarding card stock and etc. I have to say, the card stock has been fine for me. I riffle shuffle my decks and once I got it broken in, it has shuffled and read perfectly well for me. The box is study, beautiful, not too bulky, and holds the deck and the guidebook perfectly. I'm very pleased by this addition to my tarot deck collection.

It's a wonderful deck of cards. I love the art work. It comes with a guidebook that helps understand the cards. However, I wouldn't say it's begginner friendly. It's more for experienced readers. At least in my opinion. Overall wonder full deck.

This tarot deck is divine! I can’t get over how creative, beautiful, and precious it is. This deck is perfect for those that want to get in touch with their creative side. The quality of the card stock is nice as well. ( I don’t understand what people are complaining about.) One of my favorite things about this deck, besides the art, is the guidebook. Her words are so powerful and healing and compliments the deck so well. In fact, it elevates it. It’s one of the reasons why this deck is so powerful and feels like such a treasure. I really wish Hay House could have printed the full-size version of the guidebook Chris-Anne had that also included all the thought-provoking questions, visualizations, and exercises instead. You can still have access to all of that on her website, but it’s better to have it all together in a book, so it doesn’t feel like a hassle. Hay House, I really think you should print the full-size expanded version of The Muse Tarot guidebook that Chris-Anne had as well. Just sell it separately as an add on. A lot of us would buy it, especially since so many of us love the experience of this deck. And getting a book with all of her poetry and her creative exercises is a great way to elevate the experience of this deck and is a great collector’s item since the Tarot community loves collecting things.

What a gorgeous deck! The color harmony (a persistent area of weakness in many decks) is second to none. The photography and the mixed media collages are well put together and symbolic in a way that draws you into the deck immediately. The card meanings focus on creativity, so this is a wonderful deck to use if you're feeling stuck or unappreciated asa creative person. Every element of the set -- deck, book, and storage box -- is sturdy and substantial. The Muse Tarot has quickly become a favorite of mine. It is an absolute delight to use for solo readings, teaching, and readings for clients.

I just received this today so this is my first impression. First, the cards are the same quality as the light seer’s tarot. The imagery is more realistic but still incredibly artistic just more of a mixed medium vibe. I love it. When looking at the guide book there is a big difference between the two. The muse tarot deck does not have images of the cards in the guide book and flow directly to the next card while still on the same page. This isn’t a problem for me but it is a noticeable difference. The writings really spoke to the poet in me and made me look at myself and really sit in introspection. I am happy with this purchase.

I think for many people this tarot deck its a "must have it" , its beautiful and sooo inspired, you can tell the author is traveling in her mind and soul as long as she was making it. the not so good things: its a feminine tarot, you won't find masculine energy on it, and despite I don't like feminist tarot, in this case I can understand because its about "the muse". the other thing not so good, are the horizontal cards, only 2, but then you can get used to it. besides that, its a great purchase, I only recommend to professional readers, no for beginners, unless you want it for collection, but if you are gonna use it with clients , you must know how to read tarot. The quality of the cards very good, good to shuffle.

The artwork is absolutely gorgeous. I had been looking for a deck that was bright and inspiring, and different than the typical Rider-Waite. In that sense, this deck is perfect. It feels fresh, creative, and optimistic-- it just radiates positive energy to me. However, the card stock is so substantial that I can't hold the cards to shuffle them normally. The deck is literally half again as thick as any of my other decks. It's not that the card stock is stiff-- it's perfectly flexible and not slippery. The deck is just so thick that holding the cards between my thumb and middle fingers doesn't leave enough room for my index finger to apply the pressure to shuffle them; it takes so much fiddling around to get my hands into the right angles to shuffle the cards that they cut into my thumbs at the crease. I have to shuffle half the deck at a time, which doesn't doesn't feel right; losing that tactile connection makes it harder for me to be "in the moment" with my reading. I'm keeping the deck because of its positivity, but it won't replace my other decks for everyday readings-- it's just not practical or enjoyable to shuffle.

The cards are beautiful but I have two problems with them. The first one: they smell horrible. Not sure what the printing process is but they need to look into changing it. I'm assuming the cards will eventually "outgas" and air out, and no longer smell. But it's a terrible odor. Gives me a headache. The second problem is related to my own deck and causes me to have to return them. On one end of the stack of cards, it looks like something with a lot of force pressed down or fell on the cards. So about 5 cards have a deep indentation. Before I decided to return them, I wanted to give the deck every chance and started shuffling them. If I decided to keep them, I'll constantly be choosing the same 4-5 cards over and over again because they stand out / stand up from the rest of the deck. This is really disappointing. After I return them, when I get a new deck I'll come back and change my review. But right now...between the smell and the damaged cards, this is completely unacceptable. Someone needs to have a few chats with the manufacturing / printing company. --------- Update: I got the new cards and the 2nd batch did not smell at all. I like they have a bit of a "tooth" on them, making them easier to shuffle. Now to be honest, I have small hands so will never be able to shuffle like a regular card deck. They are just too big for my hands. So the tooth makes it easier to shuffle (up / down in my hand) without them flying everywhere. The images are great and I love the website and extra book I purchased for the card descriptions.

What a beautiful deck! The Muse Tarot is a wonderful 78-card deck accompanied by a lovely guidebook. The cards are absolutely gorgeous, filled with beautiful colors, roses, and deeply feminine imagery. If you feel drawn to the muses and everything beautiful, feminine, and inspiring, this is definitely the deck for you. At the same time, I believe it could resonate with anyone. It has a modern, dreamy, almost fairy-like quality, and I could feel its energy immediately. I am someone who is very sensitive to energy, and I can feel the energy of cards as soon as I touch them. Some decks can feel quite heavy, but this one feels incredibly light, pure, and unique—as though the cards had been washed in crystalline water. I truly recommend this deck to anyone considering purchasing it. For me, it is absolutely a five-star tarot deck!

美しいMUSEが力強くも繊細に描かれていますとても綺麗。 小アルカナのスートはワンドが『インスピレーション』、カップ『エモーション』、ソード『ボイス』、ペンタクル『マテリアル』で描かれてます。 タロット初めての方にはかなり難しいと思います。 正位置で使用するデッキですが、背面で正逆はわからないので、正逆とる事もできます。 絵柄がとにかく美しく解釈も広がるので、基本的なライダー版の意味で読むよりも、本来の解釈プラス絵でインスピレーションを受け取る事が多いです。 カードからメッセージが流れ込んでくるタイプの人には特におすすめです。 小アルカナのKingがMUSEで描かれているのも特別感があってとても良いです。 独特の世界観、綺麗なカードが欲しい方にもおすすめ。

Esta baraja es hermosa en todos los sentidos: desde la calidad de su fabricación hasta sus colores vibrantes. Los collages son excepcionales y capturan a la perfección la esencia emocional de cada carta. Para mí, el uso ideal de este mazo no es necesariamente la adivinación del futuro, sino sumergirme en las emociones que acompañan a cada situación. Es una baraja profundamente femenina. No estoy segura de cómo se sentiría un cliente masculino al preguntar por negocios o finanzas, pero como mujer, estoy encantada con ella y disfruto mucho trabajando con estas cartas. Su mensaje es claro y, al mismo tiempo, deja un gran espacio para la reflexión, el análisis y la conexión con su energía. Es una baraja maravillosa y altamente energética. ¡La recomiendo muchísimo!
