My other friend had previously used it in the Dominican Republic so this camera had been used in salt water at least a few times. During my 2nd time using it the camera stopped working, said it couldn't read the card. I thought it was a problem with the card. I got home tried to use the card from my phone (the camera uses a micro SD card) and it wouldn't recognize that card either. I noticed the card from the camera looked a little corroded so I assumed that a little salt water would get in each time it was used and not being cleaned out it was corroding the inside of the card slot.I did not want to return the camera to my friend in non-working condition so I desperately searched for a way to try and clean out the card slot. Since this card slot is for a micro SD it took a little while to come across this product (most are for the regular SD cards). But for not much money I figured it was worth a shot, even if the camera slot was too far gone. It either worked or didn't depending on device and other variables.. Happy to say it was the best 10 bucks (product + shipping) I've ever spent. My Lowrance Hook 5 unit stopped recognizing a card was inserted and was not able to read it. Meaning I can no longer do system updates or upload GPS coordinates. My only option was to purchase a new Lowrance unit at 350$. No happy with my options, I decided to give this a try.
