Well made, versatile piece of gear
Let me preface this review by saying I have seen some negative reviews from people comparing this to a US Army issue poncho. I would say it compares favorably to the real deal, aside from IR signature......and if you're worried about your IR signature you've got bigger issues than what poncho you're wearing. For the record, I own this poncho from USGI Industries, along with two Helikon-Tex ponchos, a stasher poncho from EMS, two different actual ORC Industries US Army issue ponchos, an Angolan military poncho, and a PSSLE from Wilderness Innovation (yes, I like ponchos). When it comes to the best of the bunch, the Wilderness Innovation kinda stands above the others. That being said, it's a hand made poncho from a small shop in Utah, so that's not surprising. What IS surprising, however, is how good this particular poncho from USGI industries is. This poncho is well made. The stitching is done well. The material is high quality. ALL of the seams are taped, and taped well. The grommets and snaps are all very high quality, and have been very robust. I tend to use this poncho a lot as it is roughly the same dimensions as an actual US Army issue poncho (same basic size, shape, etc), but substantially lighter. The US issue woobie ties right up no problem (the MARPAT woobie you see in one of the pictures is a USMC issue woobie made by Winston Salem Industries for the Blind). I have used it as a shelter more times than I can count, with zero failures. I have worn it in the rain and been completely dry. Out of every poncho I own, this is the one I grab the most believe it or not. Even the woobies they make are really nice (and substantially softer than the actual issue ones). All in all, for the price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this poncho again.

Good quality, extremely versatile, and they fit in my Emergency Bag
I read some of the negative reviews and concede that these ponchos may be a little thinner and less rugged than genuine military issue, but they're also lighter, more compact and a fraction of the cost. Which for occasional backpacking, make them work better for me. I like that they are rip-stop and wider than most ponchos, (a full 62 inches), so in addition to keeping you dry while you're hiking, you can stretch a bit of para-cord between 2 trees and make a tent , or snap the two sides together to create a rainproof bivy over your sleeping bag. I bought 2 and they snap together beautifully to create a 2-person emergency bivy for my wife and I. My only disappointment is that there are no snaps at the bottom to close the bivy. If I can find 4 to 6 of the 2-sided snaps I'll add them myself. Or in an emergency, duct tape the bottoms together. Living in Colorado, I keep a small day-pack in my car at all times for those spontaneous hikes when we're driving through the mountains. 2 of these ponchos fit easily in my bag, along with packable down coats, thermolite underwear and a few other survival essentials. No one plans to get lost of have an emergency in the wilderness, but if you do, you'll be very glad you invested in these ponchos. If they ever offer them in Survival orange, I'll buy them again.

Great poncho
Seems exceptionally durable and super lightweight. Great to keep in the Jeep “just in case”.

Good item to have; multi-purpose.
An overall good design. Seems to be adequately large, has decent quality grommets and snaps where they need to be, and it wears well. Material is fine, a bit on the lighter side, but it does the job. No complaints, recommend.

Versatel and packable
This is one of the best ponchos that I ever owned. It’s just what I wanted for fishing, packable, extra protection left in a vehicle. There is just so many uses for this product!

USGI Industries Military Style Poncho
Excellent poncho for the price. The ripstop material feels durable without being overly heavy, and it's kept me dry through some pretty nasty rain. It packs down small, covers both me and my gear, and has plenty of uses beyond just rain protection. It's one of those pieces of kit that's worth keeping in a pack or vehicle, even if you don't need it often. I'd buy it again without hesitation.

Lightweight but sturdy
I bought this poncho to have something that I could use as rain gear, but also as a ground cloth for lightweight camping without a tent. This rain poncho fit the bill. Spread out on the ground, it fit perfectly for me under a 10x7 A-line tarp set up and kept my sleeping bag dry (I’m 5’6”). It was easy to shake out in the morning and wear. It was a little big on me, but it’s a poncho, so that really doesn’t matter. There is lots of room for your backpack or anything else you want to carry under it. I liked how sturdy it was despite how thin and lightweight the material was. I didn't use the cord for the waist, but it’s there when you want it. This should last much longer than my previous ponchos.

Outstanding customer service
I recently received the USGI Industries Military Style Poncho. The weight, construction, and color of the poncho was as I had hoped when I placed my order. I was very pleased with it until I discovered that a snap had pulled loose from the fabric. I decided to keep the poncho and use it as is because I didn't want the hassle of shipping it back and just one snap being unusable was only going to slightly downgrade the function of the poncho. I received an email from the company asking for a review so I sent one in and explained my disappointment with the snap issue. The next morning I received an email from customer service stating that they had read my review and they wanted to make this right. Customer service offered to send me a new poncho at no cost to me. I didn't even have to send this one back. Well, that all happened Friday and I received via FedEx the new replacement poncho today (Tuesday). This poncho is identical to the first one I received: Not to heavy but not so light that the wind blows it all over, a good shade of olive drab (on the light side but still olive), the head opening is large enough to put it on and take it off easily, the hood has good dimensions, and all the snaps are secured to the fabric and function as designed. Obviously, I am pleased with the product and overall outcome of this. Its hard to beat customer service like that. I wouldn't hesitate to order again.

Keeps the rain out!
Took it on a horsepacking trip in the rocky mountains. The fabric is soft enough it didn't spook the horses (the way cheaper ones do) and was long and covered my legs. Kept me warm and dry. Overall 10/10 would recommend.

As quiet & comfy as wearing a black bin bag
I bought this as it is described as being suitable for hunting. I don't hunt, the only shooting I do is with my camera but I wanted something I could fling on over my clothing on the rare occasion I'm sat outside somewhere trying (& frequently failing) to get some nice photos of wildlife in the rain. I figured it would be at least reasonably quiet if it's suitable for hunting, but I'd make less noise popping a cheap black bin bag over my head. Any wildlife would disappear pretty quickly unless they were very hard of hearing. It should be fine for just keeping dry if you don't mind rustling like the trees in high winds!
