It never healed and I have degenerative disc disease and chronic neck pain now. The only thing that really helps is traction. In physical therapy, they would do it by hand, and it was the best part of the appointments. I have spent years buying gadgets to mimick that, and this is as close as I have come! It is very simple to use, just put the stretchy strap on the outside of a door knob and shut the door, then adjust the velcro pillows and velcro heat/cooling pillow to your liking, rest your head in the sling created by straps and actual piece to hold your head, and when you rest, your body weight will gently give traction as your neck is fully supported and stable, and slowly stretches with your body. It relieves the pressure on pinched nerves, adds space between the vertebra, and when you lose that valuable cushion in between each vertebra, being able to put a little distance between practically bone on bone friction is heavenly. Unlike the ones I've tried before that you pump up cushions around your neck that stretch your neck up, this doesnt feel like it was choking me at the same time! I definitely recommend it for those looking for something to help provide some traction who doesnt want to hang from the tops of doors or put inflatable rafts around your neck!
