The captured gases are then released and disposed of by an electric reversal of the materials polarity, and a new cycle of oxygen flow initiated. Due to some chemical changes in the zeolite caused by the reversal of polarity, and contamination by trace elements, the efficiency of the whole process slowly degrades over time, until a sufficient concentration of oxygen can no longer be performed.
