Most the time it just knocks them out of the air, and you have to shoot them about 3-5 times in order to actually kill them. I have tried it with horse flies and it cannot kill them no matter how many times I shoot them. I wouldn't try it with wasps. I shot a wasp once with it, and it didn't even affect it, it just kept flying and I had to retreat. **Q: does this model come with the laser beam?** A: No. You have to buy your own laser. Kills flies and ants, but not roaches. The orange color makes it easier to find, and if you are traveling through TSA, it's easier to explain that it's not a real weapon. It's easy to use with its shotgun pump action and easy to refill with table salt.
