## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used in a microwave?**
A: I have a couple of these in different brands. One has wire tying the laps together and I can't recall which one it is. If it's 100% bamboo then I don't see why it couldn't be used in the microwave. Other than the fact that you're not steaming at that point. Kinda defeats the whole purpose, if you ask me.

A: Yes it is 100% Bamboo.

**Q: After receiving this item, did you notice a chemical stench? Does it seem to be varnished or coated with anything?**
A: Not the one I received

**Q: I have yet to purchase this  Joyce Chen Bamboo Steamer and wonder how you make sure that it is cleaned properly after use,**
A: It's literally self cleaning.
Hot water and steam will kill all bacteria, if you're still concerned then I'd take a small bristle brush and gently scrub
