The only reason that I'm not giving it a 5 star rating is that the camera took pictures that came out blurry. It would be great for close ups on flat items like coins ect but for textured items you can only focus in clearly on parts of it which resulted in blurry pictures. Review: Misleading claim of 1200x magnification - a nice 300x microscope though!! - This is a very nice microscope that was ruined by a misleading description of 1200x magnification. This unit clearly states on the box it is a 300x optical microscope and such information really should be used for advertising purposes on this site also. The unit works well though the light is not very bright and not adjustable. The built in LCD and lithium battery with 2 hour run time is adequate for the task and microSD card (4gb included with SD adapter) option makes this a very handy stand alone unit.
