I pour it in the hole at the top of the inhaler.  Close the inhaler and shake it.   I actually like this better as the oil does not contain menthol.

I'm sorry but, really can't answer that question.  I purchased this oil to put on a cotton pad and insert in my floor vent.  It supposedly deters cats from getting near the smell.  I had a male cat that had decided to mark his territory after my female cat urinated in it (from a bladder infection).......I researched every deterrent.  I sometimes sniff the oil to wake up my sinuses but that's it.
