You'd never know that from the totally misleading photo that goes with the pants on the Amazon website. Alfred Dunner pants are deservedly popular with women for the simple reason that most styles in this brand come in different lengths--short, average, and tall--which means that alterations are not necessary for most women. It's too bad this fact has been lost on the Amazon website with a photo that makes them looked cropped. As far as the pants themselves, they are a lightweight denim-look fabric, nothing special, and the fit is only okay. You'd never mistake them for jeans. Still, they are comfortable and easy-care, which is why I gave them four stars. They're overpriced for what they are, but since Alfred Dunner's "short" is 27", the pants didn't need to be shortened for my 27" inseam length. I'm still ahead of the game because I could wear them the day they arrived without having to chop off a chunk of extra length and then hem them, the usual drill for pants that come in a standard one-length-fits-all 31" or 32". I have several pairs of Alfred Dunner pants in the short length, and they fit perfectly from Day One. I wish more manufacturers would offer different lengths in regular sizes, not just a "petite" option.
