I kept reading about the black coloring flaking off the metal strainers. These were very inexpensive (great value). The plastic is solid black, not coated, so flaking won't be a problem. We've only had these for about 1 month. It's only a sink strainer, but I'm quite pleased with the purchase. They work well, are great value, and seem appropriately rugged.
