Glycerine is thicker and contains no alcohol. IMO, it tastes weird.. And it's seems to dissolve wonky. I prefer original. I have used this product for years. What happened?** A: I don't have a real answer, only a conjecture. Perhaps it depends upon the stevia leaf itself. When stevia is processed, it requires a large number of leaves. Perhaps the maker of this liquid stevia changed the source of the stevia leaves. Again, this is only speculation. A different source could indeed change the flavor of something. For example, a tomato of a particular variety from my garden soil may taste different from a tomato of the same variety planted in a different type of soil in another location. Organic things are like this. Much depends upon the soil, the amount and type of fertilizers, if any, the weather conditions during certain stages of plant growth, and how the plants are harvested and processed. There are many variables. It would seem to me the flavor and perhaps even the strength of this product could vary slightly from batch to batch. Hope this helps.
