Is there room for various types?** A: it comes with a course foam fiter in the bottom of the basket and a mesh bag of the seachem matrix. seachem's "matrix" is one of , if not the best reusable filter medias. yes, there is still some room left in the basket for additional media should you need it. **Q: Bottom blue wheel should it be open or closed?** A: It is an adjustment for the skimmer located near the top. You can adjust the flow with it.
