Do I need to get the salt out of the meat?

Yes you do! remove from package and boil meat for about 5 to 7 minutes and throw liquid away. If you do not, it will be very salty

Is this product shelf-stable?

Needs refrigeration. You can also put it on the freezer for a later use. I freeze done of my packages for about a month. When I used a month later it was just the same taste as the one I used immediately. Hope this helps.

I'm going by the product image, but I don't see the black beans. Do I have to add black beans to this mix?

I'm addition to the meat mix here, I use onion, garlic, black beans, and a little cilantro to garnish. To prepare, take the carne seconiht of the meat mix (it looks like dark colored steak) and soak it over night in some water to reduce the saltiness and discard the water. In a pan, fry the bacon and carne seco, and in another pan fry the remaining sausages. In a pressure cooker or instant pot, saute the onions and garlic until fragrant, them mix in all the meat, and fry a little longer. Once your kitchen smells amazing, add the beans and enough water to cover by a few inches. Close the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 20 minutes. That's it!

It’s okay

Arrived warm, put it in the fridge right away. Bacon has lots of fat, tried frying it first but it didn’t make a difference. It’s just okay.

Not cold when arrived

Like a lot of the other reviews, I received the product in an ice chest, but the cooling pack was completely melted. I put it in the fridge right away and used it pretty soon after arrival. The meats in this product are all cured so I wasn't too concerned about it being shipped frozen or anything, but I would have preferred if it at least arrived cold. But it was actually a fairly decent quality and made a nice addition to my feijoada.

Meat arrived hot! Nasty & unsafe for consumption

This meat was shipped with one tiny “cold pack” in an unsealed envelope. The meat was hot when I opened the pkg and totally unsafe for consumption. I thought it would be shipped with Dry Ice, but not so. Complete ripoff.
