Thanks!** A: I have never tried softflex with my easy knotter. But it might be worth a try. You can use any cord you want, although I have found it difficult to use imported Italian leather as it doesn't seem to "nudge" up and make a good knot next to the beads. Since getting this I have made dozens of beautiful knotted necklaces and bracelet's. I wouldn't give this thing up for anything! I have both styles and find that the blue one works better then this one for Very large beads, but other than that this one is the BEST!!!!
