Review: Great looking High Quality - Installed in remodeled shower and I am very happy with the quality of the product. Better be a good plumber though, or hire one. This would not be a direct replacement in most cases. Review: Must have - This set is a must have if you install Hansgrohe external thermostatic mixer. You will need this kit to make sure you have the stub outs on correct distance from each other. Once you finished walls, you will need to cut them to leave 3/4” from the wall. Then attach thread adapter that comes with the mixer and you can install the mixer. I cut the stub outs with an angle grinder - they are made of relatively soft metal, so they can also be cut by hand saw for metal. Angle grinder just made it quicker. The metal “bridge” plate that connects two stub outs for installation makes it extremely easy to keep them on correct distance from each other. These are used to set the specific spacing needed for the final installation of the fixture. These protrude from the wall to allow setting of the wall material and tile while maintaining the proper spacing. Once completed these are unscrewed and discarded. **Q: what is this item for? where exactly does it go into?** A: This item should be connected to your piping in the wall. Faucet is connected to this item. These are 2 pipes and spacer that is needed for keeping correct distance between pipes during installation. Installation manuals are available online. **Q: Why is this item shown with the grohe europhia shower system? is it needed or does it ease installation? they are two different companies.** A: I bought the same type of exposed shower bar system from Hansgrohe, you need it to ensure proper spacing and levelness as the pipes protrude through the wall. I did not need Hansgrohe 01850181 3/4-Inch iBox with Service Stop $79.44. The mixing valve is contained within the lower part of the showerbar and those 2 pipes need to be inserted into the backside of the lower part of the showerbar. If the pipes coming out of the wall are not exactly spaced and exactly leveled to mate up with the female adapters in the showerbar...you'll never be able to get it together properly. The instruction warn about this many times! **Q: Hi, could someone please confirm which diameter are the in-wall pipes? (3/8", other?) and also if this is a compression connection system?
