Review: Nice crayons for little ones - I bought these for my 2 year old toddler. She loved them, they are very easy to hold for little hands due to the triangular shape it has. If the baby/kid doesn't have much control or strength on it's hands yet, the crayons will draw very light. Colors are as pictured, and package as pictured too. They are very good for the price. They have no pesky paper on them (for someone to tear off in little pieces...) yet they remarkably resist breaking. I can't tell you how many times these have been dropped from the highchair to the tile floor below with no breakage whatsoever (we have been using for roughly a year). My little one even likes just playing with them (and not coloring). Since they are a little harder than other crayons, I do find that a couple of the colors don't color as vibrantly as other brands, notably the pink. They are also not marked as "washable" but we have not had any problems with that aspect either. Do markings easily wipe off of a table or other surfaces?** A: Yes. My daughter uses them on our counter and inevitably there are stray marks where she misses the paper. I have seen many children leave bite-marks on Melissa & Doug Jumbo Triangular Crayons, but I have never seen a child be able to bite-off a bit of these crayons. I would recommend these for your daughter's first crayons. Many children can mark on paper using crayons by 10-12 months old. However, do not expect her to "scribble" until 13-18 months old. **Q: What are these really made of? Big enough to grasp easily, writes well and smoothly, love that they're triangular so they don't roll around, and especially love the case. My toddler had more fun putting them in and out of the case than actually drawing with them.....
