With an upcoming appointment at the DMV, I figured I should get in to see an optometrist to make sure I had glasses on hand in case the vision test was any issue, but, with COVID and cost I was procrastinating until I saw an article about EyeQue and thought it may be a great alternative to visiting an optometrist. It was!After receiving the kit, I attached the Personal Vision Tracker (PVT) to my phone and took the tests. I found them easy to understand and easy to complete, and it took less than an hour to get all necessary readings to obtain my "prescription" numbers. I then ordered a pair of glasses online for about $40 hoping the glasses received would accurately correct my vision. While they weren't needed to pass the DMV vision test, I use them anyway while driving at night because why not see the best I can; they add some clarity to signs and headlights/tail lights (reducing a bit of a glow from them).I'm very happy with the PVT from EyeQue and the glasses I purchased. I saved both time and money compared to visiting an optometrist, and I loved the convenience of taking the tests at home. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money and time *by C***O on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2022* This is one of the worst products I ever bought.Despite following all the instructions and (eventually) getting through several sets of eye "exams" (i.e. 9 attempts per eye x 3 times to get one set of Rx numbers), AND repeating this at several longer intervals months apart, the Rx numbers this gave me (and the PD measurement with the included PD tool) were WAY off from what THREE different optometrists gave me. (why 3? - I was in different countries - and one of them was necessary to renew a drivers license...)The pure "distance" (SPH) values were generally close, but the astig (CYL) numbers were FAR from what the professionals measured and the AXIS weren't much better.The PD measuring software crashed several times and it consistently measured me about 2 mil too narrow.Stay away from this. While it seemed like a great idea it's NOT ready for "Prime Time". Just spend the $50 or so with a professional, else risk using this to buy incorrect Rx glasses and waste even more money.PS. It's RARE that I give 1 star reviews, but this really deserves it... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works very good but difficult to use *by I***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2021* The EyeQue worked very good for me it got my prescription right and surprisingly it did it just as good a job as when I visit the optometrist. Only problem is there is a learning curve it was difficult and tedious for me to get use to using it. You have to line up the green and red bars until they become a yellow bar eventually I got most of them fairly easy after lots of practice I became much faster at it except for a couple of areas where I had a lot of difficulty adjusting it and seeing the bars I had to tilt my head till I could get it and I still barely I could see it. It seems that part of my retinae was more difficult for the device to get in focused for me.One thing I found out is I didn't have to have one eye focused 6 feet away like they suggest I found this impossible to do I could only focus one eye at a time I couldn't do it with both eyes open I had to close my other eye. It seems you don't have to do it the way they tell you with both eyes open because my prescription came out just right.I order the sample eyewear from EyeQue they were only $19 and they came in a week or so it's a good way to check if you got things right without spending much .The device itself is well designed and attaches to the smartphone very good and works well with the software. I like the benefit too that I don't have to expose myself to Covid to go shopping for a pair of glasses or seeing the optometrist.
