This paint-over-rust solution quickly stops surface rust before it can compromise the part’s structural integrity. Rust Encapsulator penetrates deep into the metal to prevent existing rust from spreading or future rust from forming. It’s also heat-resistant up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which means it can be safely used in the engine bay or near the brakes.
- HOW TO USE: Apply product as a primer/Encapsulator over clean or corroded (rusted) steel or cast iron. Prep surface by mechanically cleaning loose flaking rust with a stiff brush or wire brush/wheel. Remove any grease, oils, or other surface contaminants with a solvent such as PRE or Acetone. Apply by brush, roller, or spray. See manual for more detailed instructions.

This product works so well. I bought it to protect and paint over my 1990 Honda Fourtrax racks and rims that am restoring. I changed out my plastics so the racks really needed some love! They had some rust so I wanted to clean them up and prevent it from rusting more. I used a small paint brush and a small sponge brush to apply the product. I could have sprayed it but I thought painting it would be less waste and more cost effective. This dries down pretty quickly. It is hard to get off you skin even with Gojo. I ended up using 100%r real acetone to get it off my fingers. When it's on...it is really on! Pic on Left is Before, Pic on Right is After.
