I guess. - I wanted to get this pole, because I didn't want to jack around with another pole that wasn't designed for the Flowtron zapper. So I picked this up. It works fine for it's purpose. It's actually pretty tall, which is good and breaks down into 3 sections. So when I'm not using my zapper I can take the zapper and the top 2 sections off and just leave the bottom section in the ground (could be a safety risk so use caution). I used a piece of wood on top of the bottom section and a rubber mallet to hammer the bottom section into the ground about half of it's length. This made the base very sturdy. I noticed that it's beginning to rust a bit already, so I suppose this is one of those things that will need an occasional wire brushing and a coat of black Rustoleum about once a year. I have lost my hardware for it somehow, but zip ties work in a pinch. I may contact Flowtron to see if I can get more hardware, or maybe one day when I'm cleaning the basement I will find it. I can't help but wonder if one of the cheapo poles I see at the hardware store would have worked just as good? Maybe, maybe not. At least this way I supported an American company. According to the dimensions, it says it is only 37 inches high which seems much too low.** A: I think 1 section might be 37 inches. This pole is about 7 feet tall maybe? I have to use a step ladder to plug in the zapper. I think the bottom of my zapper sits at about 6 feet? Anyway, definitely taller than 37 inches :) **Q: my flowtron pole didnt come with the locking feature or cap, where can i get those pieces or something else that would work in place of?** A: I did not try to lock the bug zapper to the pole. The hardware that came with it was enough to attach the bug zapper to the pole. If you do not have any hardware to attach, I think you should be able to get that at the hardware store. **Q: Does this product come with a base to put the pole in or does it require to be placed in theo soil?** A: This pole does not come with a base. I pounded it directly into the soil before finishing assembly. If you're exactly sure about the location you've chosen, you could probably cement it in similar to setting a fense pole. **Q: Once the pole is inserted 2' into the ground what is the distance from the ground to the horzontal bar that the hanging hook is on?** A: I have to use a step ladder to reach it. I thought it comes with a stake and will be easy to put in ground. Ohhhh nooooo,, it’s three pieces of pipe that you have to shovel the dirt off your lawn the. Put this in and then possibly have to cement it in. I don’t know what they were thinking. I mean at this point it’s easier to nail my lantern to the wall.
