I returned them because you have to hone/sharpen them before using. For the price there are several other manufacturers that cost the same or less and are ready to use right out of the box. **Q: What mallet should I use on these?** A: When I want control I use a square faced wooden mallet, early on I thought that with a sharp tool and good mallet a single power blow should do the trick, over the years I found firm tapping blows produced better cuts. To power through heavy material removal I like a round carving mallet with a polyurethane face.
