It has a great website: fenixlighting.com and I would recommend you do some research there first before buying. The site has not only a ton of choice but also some informative Q&A. Had I simply browsed products on Amazon, I would not have purchased an optimal product for specific my usage.The LR40R is a fantastic flashlight - actually 2-in-1: it's a floodlight and a spotlight. It is extremely powerful, to the point where I keep the intensity low most of the time.During these days of Covid, I walk a lot at night (to avoid people) and my 'suburban setting' has areas with very little streetlights and some areas are completely dark. This is where the floodlight really helps. You don't have to worry about holes, uneven pavements etc. Another benefit is that the flashlight intensity will let incoming cars (usually in high beams) know that you're there. Most will lower their beams - just be careful not to blind the driver: again, that flashlight is very powerful. I've also tried the strobe when crossing streets: super effective with incoming cars.Finally: the LR40R is built like a tank. it's a clean and beautiful design. A little heavy, sure but it has a 12Ah battery! If you need something lighter, go to the Fenix website, they have smaller flashlights too.Summary: I'm really glad I got that LR40R. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GOAT: USB Power bank + 12000 lumens + replaceable standard batteries + USB-C charging *by C***. on Reviewed in the United States on 31 December 2020* Fenix has built perfection again, the holy trinity that no one else seems to be able to build for some reason? It's easily the Greatest Of All Time.-It's a waterproof USB Power bank, essentially indestructible, with waterproof USB and USB-C ports PLUS a dust cover: charge your phone, Macbook, or tablet. Power bank works even with a single 18650. Fast charging compatible, charges a Galaxy Fold phone in 90 minutes.-12000 lumens: much brighter than your car headlights, outdoor 250 watt halogen floodlights, etc.-replaceable standard 18650 batteries (a quad 18650 pack is included and doesn't appear to have any special wiring to nerf it if you use your own batteries)-USB-C charging: charge it from the wall, your car, or a solar panel. It can even run on medium spot while simultaneously charging.-insane build quality-intuitive UI-devastating strobe (too bad it's not at 12000 lumens, otherwise it would be weaponized!)The only downside I can see is that the head is pretty large (due to the 21 LEDs and heat sink); otherwise, the body is basically the size of the four 18650 batteries and very reasonable and stubby in size.They should sell a version without batteries for $75 less as many of us have tons of 18650s.I'm waiting for them to make an 18650 headlamp that can charge via USB-C AND charge your phone (power bank). I was wrong on all levels, there is simply an amazing amount of light coming out of this "small" light. Not so small I know.This torch will make you wonder if the sun has risen early. Dont think its possible to explain or show even by video how good this is.
