Genius. Many other tools on the market overcomplicate hoisting an engine while keeping it level, with screws and cumbersome designs; Oberg made this simple. The 1/4 insert for adjusting the cables works exactly as it should without binding. My only complaint with this tool is the lack of strength that the locking arm has; a bit more tension added to the arm would keep it from wiggling itself free from the sprocket, which does happen from time to time. If you want a hassle-free, space-saving tool to make your life easier, this is the one.

Perfect, and oh-so-helpful when installing engine. I use this when installing the engine on 1950's Farmall Cub tractors. Instead of using trial and error to adjust the lengths of the cable ends, I can just hook up casually and use a ratchet to adjust the angle. The product is heavy duty and is easy to adjust. It also has a secure latch to lock the angle to eliminate risk of it spooling out and causing problems. Makes a tedious task far easier. Five stars!

Great tool, light weight, doesn’t take up much room, definitely holds up a v8 Range Rover engine no problem. Next I’ll test it on a 7.3l Diesel engine assembled. If it brakes I’ll leave another review for sure. Tilting the engine back and forth takes a little getting used to with the safety latch but works way faster then the conventional load leveler. Recommend using a breaker bar instead of a ratchet that way it’s easier to go back and forth while aligning the bell housing. Only things I would like to see changed is somehow make it into 4 different mounting spots not just the 2. If engine is picked up using a mount on each head then it sits kind of crooked. And also to be able to adjust the length of the cable. For the price though it’s a great tool. Definitely recommend it.

Works like a champ, a whole lot better and easier to use than those crank handle style engine levelers. One can adjust on the fly with the use of a 1/2 ratchet in order to shoehorn into tight engine bays. The best engine leveler that I've ever used as is give you total control of fore and aft adjustment.

Game changer, not fragile like the screw levelers from harbor freight that I've destroyed before i bought this one, will probably buy again because i messed mine up trying to turn it without a load and bound it up, might try and replace Under warranty.

Much better than the attachment that came with my cherry picker. And very easy to use. I was pleasantly surprised and happy I made the purchase as I remove and install motors as a wrencher

With a friend's help and a 2-ton engine hoist, we installed a 5.2L Chrysler engine with A500 transmission attached, into a Dodge Dakota pick up truck, without having to remove the radiator support. With the Oberg Sling, it was an easy enough job to tilt the engine-transmission assembly using an 18 inch breaker bar. Though it did require a strong arm to get it to rotate it while holding the lock open with the other hand. Excellent product, well designed for its purpose, light weight and takes up only a small amount of storage space when not in use. I can highly recommend this tool.

This thing is awesome. I have replaced many engines, this makes it so easy to adjust the angle to clear fire walls etc. Highly recomend
