What happens if a pencil lead gets stuck? Can I open up and remove it?

A piece of lead became stuck in mine. I tried removing all the screws I could find and still could not get to the spinning blades in order to unclog it. Other brands are designed so you can. (I removed the batteries, battery compartment, further in screws. All I can do now is trash it.
