Cleaned up and old large timber axe, put on a new handle, then added the "bumper." All axes need one unless replacing the axe handle is a favorite hobby. I boiled the bumper for 4 minutes, turned red in the face and grunted, added some WD40 to handle and cursed and got the bumper on. Then with a hammer I carefully knocked the bumper into place. Typical process. I now have a handle that I will not likely ever replace. The Bummer is Excellent.
