Makes a huge difference because if you don’t use pure direct mode the receiver will digitize your analog signal for EQ and crossover purposes, this killing the analog signal path and removing the mojo. This works from speaker B output so I can go pure direct, and fill in the bottom with my best sub with signal from speaker B (all analog). Also, i hear no extraneous noise and it sounds great for the sub. Have not tested for full range. The individual keypad amplifiers for each room are of the non-common ground type and only have speaker level outputs (no aux or line level outputs). It might be caused by the really old vintage receiver I'm using that causes it in combination with the convertor, but this unit provides a ground wire which when I connect it to the fm ground on the back of the receiver, it really cuts down on the hum.
