I've got BLTouch v3.1 which is nice! A tip on wiring it through the sock β€” you can pull the sock upwards until you feel some resistance (don't overdo it), on my Ender 3 it went up almost a half. It also widens when compressed, so it is easier to put the cables in. Then slide it back down and repeat the operation by sliding the top part down - you'll have it done in like 1 minute. Note: I have Ender 3 with stock control box. The small issue I experienced with that β€” when Pin27 board is plugged in into stock Creality v1.1.4 motherboard, it sits too high for the lid to close because the fan hits the cables. I had to make a little extension cord which allowed me to put the Pin27 board to the side of the motherboard so it all fit nicely. I used Marlin 2.0.5.3 which took some time to squeeze it to the printer memory without loosing critical features, but BLTouch with no brainer and caused no issues. Be aware that the USBasp programmer that comes with the kit is not a real USBasp, it's a toy that works only with their own software. Tuning the printer after the upgrade was a bit of challenge, but an expected one. Once settings are dialed in, the first layer is consistently perfect. This only needs to be done when you physically do something with the printer or bed. When printer sits stationary you just keep printing and BLTouch will do the leveling for you. Review: Pain to set up, but worth it - Allow me to save you months of tinkering to get these to work. Buy the SKR mini board, find a dude on reddit who already did the firmware with 4x4 mesh bed leveling, and let these bad boys do their thing. I have BLtouch on both my Ender 3's and they're super unreliable and will give a "probing failed" error every other print but for some reason they work beautifully with the SKR board. Now I just slap the SD card in and press go. For best results use the standard Ender 3 textured print surface. The one with the hard back not magnetic. Don't do glass. This prints so flat that even with your z offset perfect, some filaments will peel up on the edges so glass is unreliable. Happy printing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ CR-10S Z-axis crash / bottom out and fix *by A***R on September 9, 2020* I bought this for my traditional (not pro) CR-10s. While Creality V2 is basically the same thing minus the unneeded boot drives, having a V1 with the boot drives made sense to me as I have a friend with an Ender 3 who wants to update his firmware. The install seemed realitively easy but when homing for the first time the Z-axis kept bottoming out and crashing. Everything was hooked up right and I watched review after review. Finally I stumbled across a redit post that he had to flip the direction of the Z-axis wire. I cut my connector and connected it white-to-black and black-to-white and BOOM! Worked fantastic!! Best upgrade I've ever made to my CR-10S!! One thing to note is that I received a BL-touch 3.1 in the package as well as the cordage (no brown wire but instead blue). I don't like it as much as I move my printer quite frequently and, while I can disconnect all the cords from the control box to make moving easier, the BL-touch has to be disconnected at the hot-end which is a tiny connection. I changed mine up using two 3-wire fan connectors to make it the same as the rest of the wires coming out of my control box. Such a better route to go as I don't have to mess with the delicate connector on the BL-touch itself. Overall I had to cut my harness to get it to work for my needs to add those fan connectors but I should not have had to cut and reverse the Z-axis wire as that seems goofy coming from Creality and not working straight out of the box.
