The sound? Really nice and full. Speakers sound great and with 50 watts it really cranks up. Review: Don't Waste Money on a Piece of Lonpoo, Buy This Sharp Stereo! - This is a quality mini component stereo! We made the mistake of buying a cheap Lonpoo brand stereo and ended up returning it. When the Sharp unit arrived I could already tell it was better before I took it out of the box because it weighed a lot more (better materials & bigger magnets in the speakers). Setting the unit up I could tell the Sharp was truly a mini component stereo, with speaker terminals, RCA line inputs, and even a subwoofer output! (No subwoofer included.) After setting it up I played a CD in both the Sharp and Lonpoo and the difference was night and day! The Sharp was...sharper? Clear crisp sound, good bass, it just sounded perfect out of the box. And it is UL Listed, which means it has been safety tested (the Lonpoo was not.) It even has an energy efficiency mark. The headphone jack in front is a rarity these days and works great (we use a bluetooth transmitter so my wife can listen to CDs on her wireless headphones.) Plays standard CD's and MP3 CD's. The AM and FM Stereo Radio has good sensitivity. The Bluetooth is easy to set up to play MP3's from a cell phone or other Bluetooth player. The USB Port nicely plays MP3 files from a Memory Stick. The Display will selectively display song Title, Artist, Album, file number being played, and number of files (up to 999). The track or file that was being played when the unit was shut off will resume when turned on, when the same CD, Bluetooth, or USB mode is selected to play. Playing CD tracks, CD MP3 files, Bluetooth MP3 files, and USB Memory Stick MP3 files can be Randomized. The not so nice features are: When playing back Randomized CD tracks, CD MP3 files, Bluetooth MP3 files or USB MP3 files and the unit is turned off and back on to resume, it's no longer in Randomize. Randomize must be selected again after the unit is turned on, and before Play is selected, or else the Randomization of tracks or files will start over. The unit will play files beyond 999, but the Display will show three asterisks instead of the file number. Now for the biggest negative: X-BASS is beyond a joke. Selecting it does nothing more than cut back on the treble. When X-BASS is enabled and you attempt to increase the treble, the X-BASS disables itself. X-BASE should have been named FAUX BASS. This unit has plenty of positive features.
