This book does a really good job of giving pictures to describe the text. The subtext underneath the pictures are probably the most important and helpful parts of this book. The textbook give you a lot of information, but they cover the biology and chemistry aspect of each concept. It's a really good textbook if you are taking biochemistry. I am not one to buy the textbooks, I generally avoid it if I can. But I would strongly suggest getting this book, it definitely helps you for the class. It clearly explains all the definitions and has illustrations to go with it. The questions at the end of each chapter are life savers, because ALL the answers are in the back of the book. There is also a glossary in the back to help with definitions. I accidentally dropped the books once and the space between the cover and the binding tore, so if you are in need of purchasing this book for a class, do not be afraid of the used books missing the cover.
