**Q: Need instructions in english**
A: Instructions in English follow below.  While you can buy traditional Rouladen meat in Germany that's already pounded thin, Rouladen in the U.S. would be considered a custom cut.  It is also labor intensive as it needs to be run through a tenderizer machine.  Rather, I buy prepackaged thin round or sirloin steaks and pound it with a meat pounder/tenderizer tool with a flattener on one end. Amazon sells these, for example  https://www.amazon.com/Vremi-Heavy-Duty-Meat-Tenderizer/dp/B0718WC5Z1/ref=sr_1_24?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1535676489&sr=1-24&keywords=meat+pounder. I would not get the tool with the needle spikes as it pierces the meat, causing it to tear when you stretch it out.  You should end up with a piece of meat about twice the size of its original shape. 

Here is my German family's blend of Berlin and Bavarian styles without the mix:  

Place the pounded meat on a chopping board, spread about a teaspoon of medium strength mustard, such as German Lowensenf all over the meat (mustard is also a natural tenderizer); sprinkle with salt and white pepper (black is OK too), add diced onion, chopped kosher dill pickle, diced ham or bacon. German bacon is less fatty and less salty, so opt for uncured or Canadian bacon. If you use American bacon, it would be preferable to use less of the fatty portion and chop it to prevent stringiness in the cooked product. Roll up the Rouladen from the narrow end, slightly tucking in overhanging ends on the sides.  Secure Rouladen with toothpicks or cotton string (which I find messier messier), dust with sweet  or smoked paprika and some flour, brown the Rouladen on all sides in good cooking oil, add broth and simmer for about an hour (or 25 minutes in a pressure cooker. Deglaze with more broth and maybe an optional bit of red wine (some folks use beer) and thicken with some starch.  We also like to add any leftover filling, (chopped ham/bacon, onion and pickle) to the pan while browning the Rouladen. This enhances the flavor. 

The pre-made mix would be used after you have placed the raw Rouladen in the pot for browning.  Do not add flour, paprika or broth.  Sear Rouladen on all sides until lightly browned.  Remove Rouladen.  Add 12 oz. of water, bring to a boil and stir in contents of bag. Place Rouladen back into the hot liquid, cover and simmer over low heat for 1.5 hours.  Turn over Rouladen from time to time, occasionally replenishing some water if gravy gets too thick.  
Serve with mashed potatoes (and red cabbage.)

Personally, I would just prepare them the old-fashioned way and add about a third of the bag's contents with a third of the water.  That way I would get more of the gravy that everyone loves. Plus, I'll have some gravy mix left over for next time.

**Q: What are the Ingredients in the Knorr package?**
A: I've used this for years my mother in law is German and got me started on it. I used to have a package that was in English I would suggest using a translator app I know it has paprika in it sorry I couldn't help

A: Simply put:  1) Put your filled Rouladen meat (I just use mustard, bacon, and onions) into a pan with hot oil and brown it.  Some folks also add a dill pickle.  2) In a sauce pan mix 350 milliliters of water with the sauce package and stir it until it comes to a boil and then turn it down to low.  3) Then put the browned rouladen into the sauce and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours.  I do mine in the crockpot over night.  I was in the service and stationed in Germany for many years.  This is one of my favorite German meals.  I serve it with bread dumplings or the German Potato Dumplings.  Enjoy!  :)

Preparation of: 3 rolls (à 170g, filling to taste) fry and remove 1. Filled rolls in a little hot oil all around. Pour in 375 ml of water (about 1 1/2 cups), boil and Stir the powder. Add 3 rolls and covered over low heat for 1 1/2 hours. stew. Roulades from time to contact. pour a little water if necessary.
