Is there a down spout or just a hole on one side?** A: There is two exit holes on each end of the bottom base tray. There is also two provided exhaust downspouts that attach to the base tray through the provided holes. I've been using this 18 tray filter on my 125 gallon tank for 2 months now. So far it's working fine. I recommend this product. Only con is the water flowing through the the exhaust pipes are somewhat noisy. **Q: what size tank does it fit** A: Whatever size you order. Simple design, but well executed. Water drip is evenly spread over media. Nice overflow on boxes to prevent clogged media water disasters. Each box holds fair amount of media, so you get a ton of room for filter media. The bottom base is very sturdy metal. I would like to see boxes with a side entrance for easier maintenance.
