Fine Roller Pen Refill - Black

Fit my old Waterman pen and worked perfectly. It's pretty darn close to 4 5/16 inches (11 cm) long, if that helps.

GOOD REFILL

This is an expensive refill for pen which was not as expensive as you'd think from the refill price. I only ordered and paid this much because the waterman pen I need this refill for has been sitting in my desk for over a decade needing a refill. Not practical for everyday use as you will rack up quite a bill for refills. Plus, this is a fine point but writes more like medium, which seems to be consistent with Waterman (I recently returned a fountain pen for this same reason).

I'm not going to lie. I expected that this refill would work beautifully because I paid $8 for this refill. $8. And for that $8 it works as about as well as a pen I found laying in the street. In fact that crappy pen writes better than this refill. The flow of the ink is inconsistent at best. I'm constantly stopping to scribble on a scrap of paper to get the ink flowing again. I expect that from a Bic, not my expensive Waterman pen. So, I'm going to use this pen refill until it is completely gone. But the next refill will be a Pilot refill that I can pick up at a local store for about half the price or less. In fact, I picked up a Pilot pen refill that does fit in the Waterman for less than a dollar and this refill works BETTER than the official Waterman pen refill. I will not be being this refill ever again.

All of the Waterman refills prior to these have worked great. These? not so good. They are more like a cheap pen in that you have to scratch on scrap paper to get the ink started. Also, with all the Waterman refills that I have had for this pin have leaked inside of the pen. Buy a Bic.

I am a little surprised by the very average writing quality of this Waterman refill. Waterman is an old company that has been providing high-end writing instruments for a long time, these refills do not reflect that for the price it should be better.
