## Overview

The SIEMENS Q120DF is a 20-Amp dual function circuit breaker combining AFCI and GFCI technologies in a single plug-in device. Designed for Siemens load centers, it features an exclusive LED trip indicator and an innovative self-test & lockout system that continuously monitors its own functionality, ensuring top-tier protection against arc and ground faults. This breaker simplifies code compliance, reduces installation time, and enhances home electrical safety with smart diagnostics and reliable performance.

## Description

Two state-of-the-art technologies packaged in one small device - The Dual Function Circuit Breaker combines GFCI and AFCI, protecting against both Arc Faults and Ground Faults. This, along with the new Self Test & Lockout feature, makes it the first in class in electrical safety for homeowners. The 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) now requires both Arc Fault and Ground Fault protection on kitchen and laundry circuits. Before the release of Dual Function Circuit Breakers, the only option to comply with this code was to pair an AFCI circuit breaker with a GFCI receptacle. The Dual Function Circuit breaker combines these two devices into one solution that provides both cost savings and less hassle in installation and maintenance. This is a win solution for everyone. A device that tests itself - Testing GFCIs and AFCIs on a monthly basis is a good idea that is sometimes forgotten. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) suggests that AFCI/GFCI devices be tested every 30 days after installation to ensure they are properly working. Now the new Self Test & Lockout feature enables the Dual Function Circuit Breaker to automatically and continuously test itself to ensure that it is working properly. If it is detected that the device has been compromised, the device trips itself and locks out the homeowner from resetting the device, reducing the possibility of the homeowner incorrectly assuming that the device was tripped to prevent a ground/arc fault. This effortless system guarantees that only the best protection is given to your home at all times.

Review: Fantastic breaker - Easy replacement for Murray breakers - Perfect replacement for my Murray circuit breakers. They work flawlessly and I upgraded 2 of these breakers (4 total) from AFCI to dual feature in about 10 minutes -- and given that I'm not an electrician, this was pretty easy. I tested both with the test button and an AFCI/GFCI testing tool on the receptacles and it was great. They are about the same size, so easily fit in the breaker box. It's only been about 30 hours since installing, but the breaker hasn't tripped, so I'm very happy. Note: It's important for safety: If you are installing these in a subpanel, make sure that your ground wires and your neutral wires do not go to the same bar in the panel -- it's very dangerous! Grounds go to one, neutrals (pigtails) go to the other!
Review: Solves new AFCI and GFCI requirements - Depending on where you live, the inspector can be very strict on what types of outlets that must be installed on remodel work. I had several outlets that the inspector said needed AFCI protection and because they were within 6 feet of a sink also needed GFCI protection. He recommended using an AFCI breaker then adding tamper proof GFCI outlets. This setup can get expensive real quick. Fortunately I found these dual purpose breakers that provide both AFCI and GFCI protection on the entire circuit making installation easier and cheaper than the inspectors recommendation. I have installed several of these and have had no nuisance tripping issues so far. I did not install one on the fridge circuit as I've heard too many horror stories of unnoticed tripping and the food going bad. No problems on the microwave, computers and their UPS back ups, vacuum, or anything I have plugged in so far. The one issue I had was no fault of the breaker. It requires the neutral of the circuit to be screwed into the breaker itself. On two circuits the neutral was too short and couldn't reach the breaker and I did not wish to rearrange the breakers to get them closer. I found "Spliceline Orange (20pcs)" by Ideal here on desertcart that solved the issue. Simply strip about half an inch on the neutral extension wire and push into the connector. They are UL listed for use inside panels and electrical boxes. If I find anything that does trip these breakers, I will update my review.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this fit a Siemens P4040B1200CU load center.**
A: Yes it does

**Q: With a sub-panel: are there any issues around using 3 wire (2 hot & commom (white))?**
A: This breaker is an one pole single circuit. The black wire is attached to the breaker - the white wire is attached to the neutral buss and the bare wire is attached to the ground buss. A sub panel requires when installing four wires -one red (hot 1) one black wire (hot 2) one white (neutral bus) and one bare (ground buss) If not wired by code it will not pass inspection and will probably trip.(NOT WORK)

**Q: Will this AFCI/GFCI breaker detect both series and parallel arc faults?**
A: Yes, it is Combination type AFCI. Also Class A GFCI, in one breaker.

**Q: Will this breaker fit a Siemens ITE series C load center, Cat # G3030MB1200CU? Does it ship in 1-2 days or months? It says months on the below the**
A: This is a QFGA2 circuit breaker. You'll need to check the label on your load center to see if it accepts QF breakersI don't know what's with Amazon, I asked about the 1 to 3 month thing also, and they sent me an email saying that their customers didn't know!! Where do you ask the seller a question?
