I purchased the dOvOb Real Big Ben Micro Building Blocks Set (3600PCS) as a birthday gift for my nephew, who has recently discovered a love for building and assembling detailed sets. He is always looking for new challenges, and this one turned out to be perfect. The package arrived in just 1 day with Prime, which was fantastic because I didn’t have to worry about delays for his birthday. This set is not your typical LEGO-style block set, it uses micro-sized building blocks, which means you need good hand-eye coordination, patience, and focus. It’s an amazing way to develop concentration skills, and the end result is a stunning replica of the world-famous Big Ben, both as a toy and as a collectible display piece. Like Building Blocks, But Not Standard Blocks The micro-size blocks make this build both challenging and rewarding. Unlike traditional LEGO sets, the pieces are much smaller and more delicate, which allows for incredible detail and precision in the final model. I really enjoyed this puzzle! It is challenging but not too hard, and the small size makes a good bookshelf accessory. This is a great purchase for any adult who likes legos but wants a better priced alternative. The pieces are much much smaller than traditional blocks, but this means the final product is a reasonable size to display. Instructions can be a little difficult to understand (but honestly I found this added to the challenge in a good way). Rather than showing steps for how each piece clicks together they provide a top-view of each layer. The building itself is quite repetitive, so the layers are easier to understand as you move up the tower, unfortunately this means the first few steps are the hardest.

First of all - to add to those who have reported the duplicated step; it has been corrected. All 92 steps are unique now. However - there are several inaccuracies in this kit. First, the picture (including in the detailed information about the kit), show the base to be a solid one-piece base. It is not! It is now a 3-layered base of black base-plates of 20x20 and 10x10 to make a 50x50 base. Also, two diagonally opposite corners are not "connected" until the 3rd layer because of the pattern used. It is not a serious issue and adds 39 pieces to the kit. The problem is I have had issues with kits where you make the base and part of the reason I purchased this kit was because it was supposed to be a solid base. Step 4 of the instructions has an error. It says to use a 2x4 black piece but the image and the actual design has that piece to be a 2x3. That slight error needs to be corrected. The product page, and the box state that this kit required 3600 pieces. It does not say "3600+", but "3600". If you check out the step by step instructions, it clearly needs just over 3900 pieces! My count (checked several ways) using Excel was 3903 pieces. That includes the 39 pieces instead of 1 for the base. However, there were still plenty of pieces. There was even an extra 20x20 base, 3 black 10x10 small bases and 1 green 10x10 small base. I am not sure of my actual count but it was over 375 extra pieces (see my 3rd image of the bowl of extra pieces - also seen in the other images). The actual kit was very straightforward and the instructions well written. As is common, the lines separating the pieces on the darker colors (like the dark gray) were a bit difficult to tell and without looking at the actual step along with the step part list, it was very difficult to distinguish white and clear. I've been told that the developers have yet to figure out an easy way to mark them. Dark gray and black are almost as difficult. The instructions never mention the stickers for the clock but they are there and placed on the clock-faces in my images. Overall, it was a very good kit. If it had not had the inaccuracies I listed, I would probably have given it a 5 star rating. I do recommend it. I have never had any serious issues with this company and only a few missing pieces here and there.

My wife bought this for my daughter, thinking that it was just like LEGO and that it was 360 pieces. She was wrong on both counts, but it wasn't all for naught. Pros: - Amazing value for your money - plenty of time to spent, and the final product looks pretty nice. - Comes with a piece separation tool (like LEGO has), which works quite well for undo-ing a mistake! - Unlike some other customers, we had extras of each piece type leftover and then some. There were clearly extras thrown in, in case of misprinted pieces or pieces getting lost. - Pieces seem to be 3D printed, and the overall quality is decent. Not LEGO, but good enough. Cons: - The pieces are much, much smaller than LEGOs. Be sure you pay attention to detail and have finely tuned fingers! And searching for the ones you need can take awhile! - It was hard to tell the difference between "white" and "clear" in the instruction manual - you could figure it out fairly quickly once you realized something was up, but it was a bit unclear. - A couple of pieces would fall apart easily - things like the top of the streetlights or some of the spires were easy to accidently knock over, but then easy to put back on. Conclusion: This isn't the kind of set I would ever want to take apart, but rather display somewhere. My 6 year old daughter and I had a blast doing it (although her attention span means that it's probably better for 9yo and up or so). Compared to the LEGO Big Ben, it's much smaller, physically, but it's also less than 1/10 the price. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and will be looking for more of these - that says everything you need to know!

These sets are so fun to complete, this one is definitely on the difficult side but still a lot of fun

If you like LEGOs then you will like working on this one. The pieces are half the size of normal LEGO blocks and are better handled with a locking set of tweezers. All the pieces are there and fit together nicely but DON'T depend on the book for help. The book don't show step by step instructions like LEGO, it's more a reference of already assembled layers . . so it' more mind provoking to solve the configurations. Fun at 69YO.

The pieces to the produce are TINY! Not SMALL _ they are TINY!! The build instructions are TERRIBLE. Bag should be bags, of progress labeled parts to be opened based on progress. Perhaps LEGO has spoiled me - BUT - the instructions are just not workable - they are not specific as to part to be used description and they are very poorly labled. The individual pieces are perhaps i/20th the size of typical LEGO parts. Gave the box to a GRANDson, who is a very experienced Lego builde, and he said he cannot work this "gift".

This is our second dOvOb micro block set. We enjoyed assembling the Taj Mahal so much two Christmases ago that I had to buy Big Ben for us to enjoy this Christmas break. We initially separate all of the pieces into their respective groups and colors onto trays so they are easier to find when we need to pick the pieces for each level (see picture). My daughter assembles the model and I pick the pieces for the next level and place them on a tray for her. It takes us multiple days and many hours but we eventually end up with a beautiful finished product. The CAD drawing instruction book shows a picture of each level and of each piece you need to complete that levels so there is no need for written instructions. If you need to see a more detailed image of the CAD drawing I just take a picture of it with my phone and then zoom into the area in question. We had all of the pieces for the Taj Mahal, and had at least one extra for all the different groups, and we expect the same with Big Ben. This model isn't for impatient people and it requires you to think a bit so if you are looking for something easy and quick you need to look at something else. If you are looking for a challenge, which most good puzzles should provide, then this will suit your want. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!! (I think it will be the Eiffel Tower next year.)
