I've used the first generation Zagg, the orange peely one. It was okay, but it caused traction issues, where my finger was slow to drag. The screen quality was poor. I've tried the Zagg HD, which was a major improvement: no traction issues, screen quality was excellent but it was very expensive. Skinomi, Power Support, Belkin, free Speck ones that come with a case purchase...I've installed them all (i worked at an Apple store a few year ago and customers would ask to help install them) and none of them compare to the Tech Armor ballistic glass.Product (5/5)The glass does not hinder the clarity or quality of the Retina display. It's very clear, most of the time I don't even notice it's there. My 2-year old son is on the iPad often and there are little to no fingerprints. My fingers and my son's fingers glide over it effortlessly and there are no "traction" issues. I know it will definitely prevent scratches from virtually anything. I would imagine it would protect it from a fall where the screen went first, but I really don't want to be a guinea pig to find out. This was my second Tech Armor ballistic glass purchase, the first was for an iPhone 6.Installation (3.5/5)It's not difficult, but it's not all that easy either. It takes time to get it perfect, and a few tries to make sure there isn't dust. I learned from my mistakes the first time around on the iPhone. The package comes with everything you need to install the glass:- suction cups- cleaning wipes- dust removing stickers (important to not use them all)- microfiber cleaning cloth- squeegee cardI cleaned my installation area to get rid of as much dust as I could (nearly impossible). I checked the fitment of the glass and tried to tape down an edge to help with the installation, but to no avail. Then I cleaned the iPad with the cleaning wipe and gave it a good wipe down again with the microfiber cloth. Like a boxer, I ducked, bobbed and weaved to get as many angles to catch as much light to make sure I cleared any dust that I may have missed.TIP: Don't use up all the stickers! Save some for when you put the glass on to remove any dust that may have gotten in.Once I cleaned the iPad, checked the fitment, cleaned the iPad again, I was ready for the install. I put the suction cups on each end of the glass panel and took off the backing. Here comes the hard part, putting the glass on. I found it easiest to align the lower portion of the glass to the home button and worked my way up. (As I stated earlier, I tried the painter's tape method, but I didn't have luck with because I couldn't get a proper alignment. You may have better luck..)TIP: Turn the iPad on to a white screen if you can, for dust checking. If you end up with dust, don't press down on the glass to secure so you can lift it back up and remove the dust.Once it was aligned, I turned on the iPad to check for dust again and sure enough, there was dust. Since I didn't press the glass down on to the iPad, I was able to partially and carefully lift it back up and remove with it the stickers. When all the dust was gone, I secured the glass by pressing it down starting from the middle and then outward in the shape of a cross. I used the microfiber cloth with the squeegee to work out the air bubbles, there were hardly any. And done.Customer Service (5/5)As I stated, this was my second Tech Armor purchase. Having learned from my installation mistake on the iPhone 6, I got my iPad install perfect. I contacted their customer support to see if I could get a replacement for the iPhone. I got a response the following morning that they will be sending me a replacement, no questions asked! I bought this item to replace a previously scratched plastic screen protector and after a friend told me that I should buy a glass one. Be aware because this company apparently sells both and the item description when buying was not as clear as it could be, and when I purchased it I thought that I had received the plastic one, but everything was correct and I had the glass version.Pros:1. This feels like a very high end product, Im not sure how the company is making money off this item since it comes with an excellent install kit with instructions that are short but very detailed and easy to follow, 2 suction cups, 1 cleaning wet wipe, and 1 microfiber cleaning towel, and 4 to 5 dust removing stickers.2. Feels very high quality- glass surprisingly to me stays very clear even with smudgy fingers. The old plastic screen (not made by this company) cover was not nearly as nice and would continuously retain smudges even after cleaning. This is completely different and a really nice product.3. Glass clarity -impeccable4. Touch screen sensitivity- could not be better5. Ease of installation- installing this with the 2 included suction cups after cleaning the Ipad as instructed was super easy. I normally get bubble or have to re-align the other screen protectors I have done previously, but being ballistic glass with 2 suction cups so as to not have to touch the screen etc...this was literally the easiest screen protector I have ever installed. Did it start to finish in under 5 minutes.6. Great packaging-details matter and there were no exceptions here. The layout of the packaging was great, and the included products made this one of the best purchases I have ever made especially for the price.7. You absolutely could not purchase a screen protector for your Ipad that is of better quality than this one, in my opinion. If you are on the edge, buy this one. If you have a plastic cover currently, buy this one and replace it. If you want an easy installation, buy this product specifically the ballistic glass version. If you want impeccable screen clarity, a screen that stays cleaner, retains the amazing touch sensitivity that the Ipad screen alone would have, buy this product.Cons:1. The packaging does not clearly state that it is the ballistic glass vs the plastic version. I got the correct item when purchasing (the glass one), it is glass not as some other reviewers have said. It would crack if bent alone by itself or feels that way unlike the plastic screens. So all that being said I specifically wanted the glass screen and I was scared at first that I got the wrong product. The front of the packaging could clearly state "Ballistic Glass" etc...2. The package came with 2 Home button covers, I put one on and instantly removed it as your fingerprint will not unlock the Ipad (or mine would not) with the sticker on. I assume that these were meant for the original Ipad Air without the fingerprint lock and if so they are very nice and I would use them most likely, for the Ipad Air 2 specifically if you want to remain having your fingerprint being able to unlock the screen, these cant be used. I saw somebody installing glass screen protector at Apple Store and thought to give it a try. I first purchased Tech Armor screen protector for iPhone and I was pleasantly surprised with quality and protection it provides. Then also ordered it for iPad. Yesterday I received it and I am very pleased with it. It came packaged very nicely giving impression of high quality product. Instructions very very easy and clear. It came with wet wipe, microfiber cloth and dust sticker to clean iPad before installing screen protector. Installation was very easy and quick. Hold screen protector with provided suction cups and align screen with edges as well as Home button. Gently press to remove air and you are done. No bubbles and I don't see any difference in display or functionality compared to phone touch screen. It also came with two home buttons to stick on top of home buttons and it really nice. Level of protection it will provides over long term is yet to be seen, but I can see that it will cover very well against scratches.Highly Recommend!
