The front brakes on my Tundra lasted 62,000 miles - started hearing the wear sensors. Toyota brakes aren't all that - they worked fine but any time I towed the boat, I basically had to stand on the brakes and panic stops were my biggest fear, especially on roads with higher speed limits. Needless to say, this wore my pads down even quicker. I also would have paid about the same for Toyota brakes as I did for the Akebonos. I did the front brakes myself - my rotors were in great shape and not scored, warped or glazed. These pads fit perfectly, were easy to install, and seem to be a quality product. I did take the time to bed the pads in correctly and noticed a bit of fade during that process, but that was repeated hard braking and not uncommon or unexpected, but I let them cool down and the next day when I drove the truck - couldn't ask for better. The brakes work great now - noticeable difference over the OEM pads. Absolutely no noise, vibration, or dust. I've only put about 300 miles on the truck since the pad replacement but I am very pleased with these.
