And there's something else that wasn't explained in the book ~ things disappear in Aubrey's phone. How? That's not explained. A book has to be really good or must have a very good reason for me to accept clear omissions like that!The chapters go back and forth between Aubrey & Melissa along with a total of 3 letters Aubrey leaves behind to the men she believes love her and she, them, The book is 308 pages long.This is Rachel Hargrove's debut psychological thriller. Her 2nd one, "My Sister's Ashes" is one that I will be reading soon. Hopefully it will be as good as this one.The title of this book is "Sick Girl"~ up to you to figure out which one really is or......not.The book starts out with Aubrey~who loves Tom, but his wife? Not so much. In fact, Aubrey is planning on killing her so she can have Tom and his children all to herself! But her plans don't always go the way she wants. Between other people in her life that get in the way...don't worry, they get taken care of and the surprise friendship she ends up having with Tom's wife...well, like I said things just don't go her way and things get in the way. But this affair she's having with Tom will NOT be broken! What's a sick girl to do? Sick? Well yes, she has cancer you see. She follows Tom's wife everywhere. She even joins the same yoga class that his wife takes just so she can keep an eye on her.Melissa~Tom's wife. She loves Tom so much. And how can she not? He is always so concerned about her and wants to help her in every way he can regarding her cancer diagnosis. Yes...yes, Melissa is "sick" too. But between having to take care of the kids (Stacy & Grayson) and not feeling well, she doesn't get out much. Well, except for her yoga class...this, of course is where she meets Aubrey. But in time, Melissa starts getting suspicious of Tom...he's staying out late, she finds movie tickets to a movie she wanted to see in his pockets. Who did he go with? She finds out that someone is sending Tom flowers at his workplace...then a weird note is attached to her daughters b'day present! The note is in reference to what she suspects Tom of and it's signed with nothing more than the initial "A".....Tom~married to Melissa. He's not only handsome, but a wonderful guy to boot! The way he dotes on his wife. Making sure she's eating healthy and taking all the right supplements. He can't possibly be cheating on Melissa! He tells her this over & over after she confronts him about her suspicions.This book made me go back & forth over who was really the "sick" one. Or maybe one was more "sick" than the other? I’m giving it 3.5. It is a psychological thriller and I found it to be quite the roller coaster ride, but some parts, especially the beginning did read quite slow so I’m torn. This book is a soup pot of crazy characters and the book sticks with you for days after. My only issue is I wished there was less inner dialogue and more one on one. I did find myself reading until the wee hours - I had to find out what happened so it is intriguing and suspenseful/ ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great psychological thriller that will take your breath away! This has got to be one of the best books I’ve read in quite some time. Unputdownable is honestly an understatement. I started the book just yesterday and became consumed by the plot, the storyline,the characters, and the lives they were living. I honestly became immersed in the life of these characters. What a rollercoaster ride. I absolutely loved everything about this book and have pre-ordered the author’s next book as well. For fans of psychological thrillers this has to be on your short list. It will not disappoint, take my word for it! But don’t start the book if you have some place to be, if you do you will likely be late, or not get there at all!
