**Q: Does it make a noise as the steam esacapes**
A: Only when it's coming up to temperature , once it starts to make a hise turn temp down till it stops and the red marker on the top is still present ,,, then it will finish cooking at like 10 lbs of pressure till finished ,,,,, it's  a wonderful tool !

**Q: Will is work on an induction cooktop???**
A: Not sure what induction cooktop is.  Works on my electric stove just fine.

**Q: how do you like the 2 short handles? Would you have preferred one which is longer?**
A: I like the 2 short handles very much. I looked for it.However, it must be much better to have a device to prevent hands from hot steam when open after cooking.

**Q: Is this a stockpot pressure cooker?**
A: Sure. You don't have to put the pressure cooker lid on it. You can use a different lid and use it as a regular pot. Since it is a thick bottom pot it is great pot to use for soups, stews, etc, and pressure cooking. I am wondering why you would want to use it as a stock pot, and not speed up the cooking time by using the pressure cooking feature?

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ silicone rubber is the solution

I have 2 of the Kuhn Rikon saute pan-pressure cookers. (Bought them at a cook store's going-out-of-business sale). I also have a larger KR pressure cooker bought later. The saute cookers came with the older black ?neoprene gaskets, while the large cooker came with the new hi temp silicone rubber gaskets. I use the smaller cookers several times a week. The black gaskets wore out in about two years. As an experiment, I replaced one with the black #1542 gasket and one with the newer blue silicone rubber #1502 gasket. The black gasket wore out again in about 2 years of frequent but not daily use, while the silicone rubber one is still going strong. I have cleaned them both carefully, and stored them out of the lids. I have never used oil on them. The black ?neoprene seems to have become somewhat stiffer over time (?heat embrittlement), which perhaps lead to its 'wearing out' and failure to seal properly in use. It shows no signs of physical wear. I don't know why Kuhn Rikon bother selling the old style gasket. I can't think of any reason to use it. The new one fits my 24cm saute-cooker lid (although it needs a bit more manipulation since it is more flexible) and should last a much longer time. BTW -- I once replaced the natural rubber gasket in a Bialetti stove top espresso maker with a "high temperature food service grade silicone rubber" gasket (made for me at a marine gasket shop in Seattle) and that completely solved the 'burned gasket' problem for the espresso maker, even when foolishly left to overheat until boiled empty. So if you don't want to spend more on gaskets than you have invested in the cookers, hi temp silicone rubber rules!
